Normally you install fonts into your system, and Publisher (and the other Affinity applications) recognize them there.

There is some new support in V2 for specially packaged fonts that you get via the Affinity Store as .affont files, and those you install directly into the Affinity applications. These fonts are usable only by the Affinity applications. But normal fonts are just installed in the system.

The font is already on my system but Affinity publisher 2 doesn't appear to recognize it.

The Affinity applications don't recognize Colour Fonts or Variable Fonts. They also don't have access to fonts which are from the Adobe Creative Cloud. And I would think other cloud services are offering fonts on demand as well, these won't be recognized either.

Edit to reflect the information from Dan C.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.6
Affinity Designer 2.6.0 | Affinity Photo 2.6.0 | Affinity Publisher 2.6.0 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

Creative Cloud fonts are supported and should appear within Affinity when installed - unless they are variable fonts as mentioned :)

Cavolini seems to be available from many sources. Do you know where you downloaded it from, and which version you have?

Fonts was already on windows system when I downloaded windows 365.

I haven't downloaded it separately.

The Cavolini that comes with Microsoft 365 is only accessible to MS 365 Office programs. There is an extra font folder where the "cloud fonts" are stored.
