Go To Page... still difficult to work with Publisher beta 2.1.0.1709

Recommended Posts

I am still unable to just click in the number field, enter the desired page number and hit the Return or Enter key and have it go to that page. The Tab key must be pressed once or more times so that the number field is no longer highlighted before the Return or Enter key will take me to the page. If I just enter the number and hit the Return or Enter key nothing happens. The dialog just sits there, mocking me.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.5
Affinity Designer 2.5.3 | Affinity Photo 2.5.3 | Affinity Publisher 2.5.3 | Beta versions as they appear.

I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.

There was also a related report where this field is being skipped when tabbing through the fields. Not a coincidence, I guess…

Hi @Sean P I was just following the instructions from the @Affinity QA's comment in that thread which stated that it was fixed. It is not.

"The issue "Document > Go To Page... fails" (REF: AFB-7104) has now been fixed by the developers.
This fix is included in build 2.1.0.1706 (or later) which is already available as a customer beta and will be included in the next release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.

If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please make a new thread referencing this one."

FWIW, I'm also unable to use Go To Page. First of all, entering a page number and then hitting Return does nothing. If I manually hit the OK key, I'm either taken nowhere, or to a random master spread. For instance, if I enter "6," I'm taken to the fourth master spread.

Typing in the page in the field in the Navigation bar down at the bottom of the screen does work.

Ahh my apologies - that fix referred to the previous issue that prevented the Go To Page from working at all.

Are you using macOS and 2.1.0.9 (not 2.0.4)? Currently pressing Return is toggling between text box entry and not, but it should still go to the page you're selected.

I'm using 2.0.4, and "Check for update" tells me I have the latest software. Is 2.1.09 still in beta?

Yes, 2.1.0.1709 is still the latest 2.1 beta release. Probably will be in beta at least a few more weeks, with probably a new beta release weekly.

The issue "Go To Page dialog no longer focuses on page number field and cannot use Return to accept" (REF: AFB-7373) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.1.0.1728".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.
