Hello,

I am new here. I want to import footnotes from MS word and a lot of them have links in it. The problem is, the words that are linked appear in the text box and disappear from the footnote area. Can you please help me solve this?  I attach an example.

Fußnotentest.afpub 44.5 kB · 0 downloads Fußnotentest.docx 15.25 kB · 0 downloads

Hello @Nievek, welcome to the forum.

If I drag and drop your .docx file into an empty Publisher document I see the problem you are desribing.

If I create an empty Publisher document with a text frame and then use 'File > Place' the footnotes import correct.

Question: what is your method of importing?

Hey,

thanks for your answers. I just copied & pasted it. Now i tried to drag and drop the word document and the footnotes were fine. But this doesn't help when I don't want to import the whole text.

I'm using Windows 11.

Thanks, @Nievek. I think that's a known issue on Windows. Serif will be able to confirm.

Hi @Nievek,

Thanks for your report and our sincerest apologies for the delayed response here. We are exceptionally busy following the release of V2 and we thank you for your continued patience and understanding here.

As Walt has mentioned, this issue was logged with our development team and has since been resolved - both drag and dropping the document onto the canvas, and using File > Place imports these Footnotes as expected for me in 2.0.4.

I hope this helps!

Will a fix for this bug be in the 2.5 release?

If you're having issues with Footnotes in Publisher with DOCX files, please create a new thread with as much information as possible and our team can assist further :)
