Dashed line & pressure mutually exclusive?

I don't appear to be able to apply a dashed line style and a pressure curve to the same curve.  That's surprising... 

Either I've missed something (quite likely) or this should be a feature request...

No, you haven’t missed anything! It’s either/or, not both.

I hit the same brick wall when trying to draw a dotted line which tapers into the distance.

The following workaround wasn't perfect but better than nothing...

Draw vertical dashed line and set the parameters in the Stroke panel.
Layers menu > Expand Stroke.
Node tool displays all segments of the dashed line.
Select and group all segments.
Layers panel > Warp Group > Perspective.
Adjust two end nodes of the group to give a taper effect.
Rotate if necessary.
