Blemish Removal tool performance issues

CC Hogan

Recommended Posts

When I use the Blemish removal tool in Develop persona, the more little blemishes I remove, the slower it gets.

After a while, Photo 2 even momentarily goes into "not responding" for each one.  I am trying to move little flecks of ash from the attached screenshot, and it is taking ages!

After the number of little corrections (these are single clicks of the tool) it is taking around 8 seconds to process each one - very slow!

This is a NEF file. I am on Windows 10 (latest), on a i9 with 64gb ram and a GTX 2070

On a fun little learning curve with Affinity. Or a vector curve. One of the two. Just a writer learning to draw.

And it gets worse.

If I have used the Blemish Removal Tool for several blemishes, then it slows down all the other operations in the develop persona too.

Yes I can confirm AP 2 slows to freezing up using the Blemish Tool in Develop Persona. I've never noticed this until now, because I just don't do that type of touch-up in the Develop Persona.
