Bahlsen Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 When I click "Normals" under "Adjustments" while editing a photo, Affinity Photo 2 crashes. This is reproducible. I am using an iPad Pro 12.9 from 2021, with actual iOS. IMG_1095.MOV Quote
Staff Chris B Posted November 17, 2022 Staff Posted November 17, 2022 Hey Bahlsen, I cannot reproduce this. I'll ask around the team to see if they can. Can you please test it on an 8 bit and 16 bit image? Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
Bahlsen Posted November 17, 2022 Author Posted November 17, 2022 (edited) Hey Chris, I tested it with 8 and 16 bit images and the result is ever the same. BTW: I have installed both version 1 and version 2. Is it possible that there are conflicts between the two versions? Edited November 17, 2022 by Bahlsen Quote
NotMyFault Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Hi Marcus, can you please show the layer stack before adding an adjustment? It might be related to whah layer is active. Bahlsen Posted November 17, 2022 Author Posted November 17, 2022 Spoiler Hope this is, what you mean with „layer stack“. Quote
NotMyFault Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Yes. Unfortunately still unable to reproduce. Recommend to restart the iPad once. Can you upload one of the images? can you try the same edits, but using a stock image? Bahlsen Posted November 17, 2022 Author Posted November 17, 2022 (edited) I restarted the iPad and subsequently loaded one of the sample photos from the archive. Unfortunately, the app continues to crash. I have attached a photo which let the App crash. I have not yet found a photo where the app does not crash under the circumstances described. NotMyFault Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 (edited) I just updated my iPad from 15.6 / 15.7 to 16.1, and can now reproduce the crash. Crash is iPad OS related. @Chris B Edited November 19, 2022 by NotMyFault Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. Bahlsen Posted November 17, 2022 Author Posted November 17, 2022 Good to know, I am not alone… 🙂 Quote
Staff Chris B Posted November 18, 2022 Staff Posted November 18, 2022 We seem to be getting it in German language. If we switch back to any other it does not crash 😮 NotMyFault 1 Quote How to format a bug report | Learning Resources | List of V2 FAQs | YouTube Tutorials
Bahlsen Posted November 18, 2022 Author Posted November 18, 2022 This is extremely irritating. 😳 I hope that an update can remedy this. Quote

Umlauts? or is this an indication Affinity Apps thinks German language does not allow any „normal“ adjustments 😂 Paul Mudditt and Bahlsen 2 Quote Mac mini M1 A2348 | MBP M3 Windows 11 - AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - 32 GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 1080 LG34WK950U-W, calibrated to DCI-P3 with LG Calibration Studio / Spider 5 | Dell 27“ 4K iPad Air Gen 5 (2022) A2589 Special interest into procedural texture filter, edit alpha channel, RGB/16 and RGB/32 color formats, stacking, finding root causes for misbehaving files, finding creative solutions for unsolvable tasks, finding bugs in Apps. For the record, the crash also happens on OS 15.7.1 if I set the app language to Deutsch. I run Affinity in English, but our iPad's default language is German.
