Staff Leigh Posted September 21, 2022 Staff Posted September 21, 2022 If you're looking to access Affinity V2 from another app on Windows - for example, using Affinity Photo V2 as an External Editor in Raw Therapee, you will need to point to the app's execution alias. They can be found here (assuming default installation location): Affinity Photo V2: C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps\AffinityPhoto2.exe Affinity Designer V2: C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps\AffinityDesigner2.exe Affinity Publisher V2: C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps\AffinityPublisher2.exe Volant, Vorseher, Kenneth Weidlich and 7 others 5 1 4
Staff Leigh Posted November 10, 2022 Author Staff Posted November 10, 2022 Unfortunately, we've had reports that the above locations are not working for certain apps. It's an issue our developers are aware of and is discussed here but they have also provided a workaround below: Roland Rick 1
Dan C Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 If you are having trouble with either of the above solutions; As an alternative to the MSIX installers, we now provide MSI/EXE versions of the Affinity V2 apps. You can find out more about our choice to offer MSIX as the default option here - These MSI/EXE versions are installed in the 'traditional' Program Files folders on Windows and can be easily accessed by third party apps. Therefore if you cannot use the MSIX versions in conjunction with the app execution aliases provided above, we recommend uninstalling the MSIX version and using the MSI/EXE versions instead. You can find out how to download these MSI/EXE versions here - If you are still having trouble accessing the Affinity app as an external editor / app connection on Windows after installing the MSI/EXE version, please create a new thread providing as much information as possible and our team will be sure to assist.
