dre.
HOLA!!! So, I prefer designer, being a vector/pantone fanboy. I have an image, it's got a few layers. I want to change the colour of a layer but specifically to a certain pantone colour. Recolour allows me to change the colour but it does not give me the precision of choosing a swatch colour from the pantone list (or I cannot see how to do this). I have tried a new layer but that didn't work, (or clearly i don't know what I am doing ) The layer is a specific size and shape so a blanket layer over the entire image is not what I want. Any ideas how to choose a specific pantone colour to change the colour?
NotMyFault
You can add a fill layer (or big rectangular shape in Designer) in the intended Pantone color, and change the blend mode to color. Nest it to the layer to limit its reach. Edit: This approach preserves the luminosity of the layer, e.g. white stays white. If you want a solid fill of a singl3 color, NathanC’s method is the way to go (see below). Staff NathanC Posted September 20, 2022 Staff Share Posted September 20, 2022 Alternatively, with the layer selected you can set a Colour Overlay in the FX panel and change the Colour dropdown to 'Swatches', this will then allow you to select a colour from the Pantone swatches. thomaso
Or assign the wanted Pantone swatch as Fill Colour to the image layer. In a CMYK document you can additionally activate the K Only button in the Context Toolbar. Thanks, this seemed to work for me The other "options" didn't work with my intricate design where I only wanted to colour part of the project that was on a separate layer.
