Probably unrelated but yesterday or so I noticed I could no longer click on "Home" in the breadcrumb trail at the top or bottom of forum pages go to https://forum.affinity.serif.com & for example in this thread the trail is just showing "Home > Designer: combine curves to create separate shapes to fill?" without showing the sub-forum info like it used to do.

Worse, what I get when I click on home is a page that looks like this:

I no longer have any way to get to the top level 'parent' forum pages like for Feature Requests & Suggestions or any of the sub-forums in the list to the right with checkboxes next to each of them. Every time I try to go to https://forum.affinity.serif.com after a brief redirect I get the above page instead.

I normally use Safari on my iMac but I also tried with Firefox & other browsers & get the same thing.

I assume I am the only one seeing this but any suggestions about how to fix it would be appreciated.

I see this at the top of this topic, and all the breadcrumb links work as I would expect. I'm at https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/160744-designer-combine-curves-to-create-separate-shapes-to-fill/#comment-914091 right now.

Edit: As for how to fix, my first suggestion would be clearing your browser cache. Or possibly signing out and back in to the forums.

I have tried both to no effect. Also, just to make sure everyone understands what I am seeing at the top or bottom of this page, it is just this:

EDIT: just to confirm, if I click on that URL in this reply & choose "Open Link in New Tab or in a new Window, I still get the same thing, just Home & the topic title.

I hope so because I have given up trying to fix this myself. I have done everything I can think of including restarting my Mac but nothing changes.

Thanks. I only posted it to the other topic because there was some mention of changing how the forum works on or at about the same time I started seeing this behavior.

Anyway, I just want to know if there is anything a moderator or anybody else can think of that I can do to fix this at my end.

Thanks for your report R C-R, we've been testing this here on a few machines internally and the only way we've been close to replicating it is with an element-blocker enabled, which has 'hidden' this breadcrumb element.

I note you mentioned trying this in multiple browsers - do you have any element or ad blocking software installed?

Is your signature still correct, and you are using macOS 10.15.7?

I have tried this on macOS 10.15.2 with Safari version 13.0.4 and the breadcrumbs display as expected for me.

I think I just figured it out, @Dan C. Looking at the screenshot in the initial post I noticed a sidebar (forum list) I've never seen. It's controlled by the icon just to the left to the Start New Topic button. When the sidebar is displayed, the breadcrumb trail is not completely shown. The solution is to switch to the other mode.

I have an ad blocker set for Safari but not - as far as know -- for any other browser. My sig is still correct -- I am using macOS 10.15.7.

However, the current version of Safari for this OS version is 15.4 & that is what I am using:

So if possible, I hope you can test with this version & see if it still works as expected for you -- but see below for a more complete test....

Yay! I think Walt has figured it out -- at least for me switching to the 'Table' from 'Fluid' (whatever that means) mode allows me to get to the topics list at https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php like I used to be able to do.

Weirdly, after I set that mode on that page, I can refresh this topic & get its full breadcrumb path again, & that also seems to work for the few other topics I have tested. So somehow, that setting for forum 'home' page affects all the others. I am reasonably sure that was not an issue a week or so ago, so something must have changed at your end, possibly something to do with that (new?) 'Fluid' view that shows the Affinity Support checkbox list on the right.
