Publisher Update Today, April 18

Recommended Posts

Updated Publisher today and now it's not working properly. Keeps freezing and when I finally get it to work, it refuses to export. This issue started immediately after I upgraded to 1.10.5.

Monterey 12.3.1.

I have both the Apple store version (won't let me save properly fonts) and the download from Affinity website, which is the one I am using currently installed on my MacBook Pro.

HI @iambia

In regard to the Font issue, please see the link below as this may be of some help

Could you try unchecking Metal Compute Acceleration under Preferences > Performance and seeing if this helps the freezing issue.

Could you provide a screen recording of the export issue in action?

Given I no longer use the Apple store version, I no longer have a font issue. But will read the document in hopes of information that has a remedy to this, allowing me to use my Apple store version when I wish to.

Unchecking that did not change anything. Still happened.

I also did a test in the other apps, Photo and Designer, same issue there. Export is no longer working for me. First time anything like this has happened in all the time I've been using Affinity apps. Odd glitch.

Screen record attached.

Could you try saving to a local folder rather than iCloud and see if you get the same results?

We are trying to recreate this behaviour, could you advise which MacBook Pro model are you using?

Could you check that the Affinity applications have been allowed file access under System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Files and Folder.

You can also try allowing the applications to have Full Disk Access. If you go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Full Disk Access. Click the Lock in the bottom left corner and enter your password to unlock. Click on the Plus button, select the Affinity Application from the applications folder. Then click the lock to save changes. You may also need to restart your device for the changes to take affect.
