lysynski
I set a lighting filter and clicked apply. When I select the position in history with lighting, the selection is not available i.e. the applied filter became permanent.

That's the point where you already applied the filter. You need to back up one more to get to the point before you applied it. Unless you used a Live Filter I don't think you can recover the actual Filter settings. lysynski
Hi Walt The filter is the first (and only) action, one step back is the original image. Seems like the filter acts differently than other adjustments hence the bug report... all adjustments should behave the same - my 2 cents. Thanks for the help. It's not permanent, if you move the slider in the history panel to the left the filter will be removed Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Hi @lysynski Adjustments and Filters are 2 separate processes and such they behave differently. Adjustment layers only affect layers which are below them. Alternatively, you can make an adjustment a child of a layer (or layer group), thereby affecting that layer (or layer group) only. Filters are available in both non-destructive and destructive forms. A variety of filters are available as live filters which are non-destructive. The 'Lighting' Filter can be applied as a Live filter. This would then give you the ability to amend the Filter Settings if you wish to do so. lysynski
Hi @EmT I see; so how do I set the lighting filter to be a Live filter, there's no option in it's settings?
Staff EmT Posted April 19, 2022 Staff Share Posted April 19, 2022 You cannot convert a destructive Filter into a Live filter, a live filter is added as layer via methods below. A Live Filter layer can be added via Layer > New Live Filter Layer > .... Alternatively you can add a Live Filter Layer from the Layers Panel via the indicated Icon I hope this helps.
