Kelvin.penang Posted March 31, 2022 Posted March 31, 2022 I have just transitioned from Photoshop, and am having difficulty in editing text. Somehow when I revisit my text layer, it becomes split up into vectors of individual letters. For instance the word "Apple" would become A p p l e. Anyone can help? Am having a nightmare over this Quote
GarryP Posted March 31, 2022 Posted March 31, 2022 Welcome to the forums @Kelvin.penang Where did the text some from? Did you create it in the application or did you import it? Also, it’s usually a good idea to tell us which Affinity application you are using. We can just about see the Live Filters button in your screenshot so we can guess it’s Photo but you might be using the Photo Persona of Publisher. Note: Full-screen screenshots are usually better than partial screenshots, if you can make them. Quote

I don't believe that is the solution either looking at the image posted by @Kelvin.penang. The text isn't opening as bitmaps but as vector curves with each character on a separate layer. It should, in theory, open as editable Frame or Artistic text with all charachters for the word on the same layer... When you’re finished editing text in the Affinity apps, just press Escape or choose another tool. You’re probably using a keyboard shortcut to confirm your edit as you would do in Photoshop, but Ctrl+Enter on Windows (Cmd+Enter on Mac?) converts the selected text to a group of vector curves.
