houseofdeadleg Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Thought it was time I tried doing something start to finish in AD, so here's a work in progress pic of it. marty, bamboo8R, Madame and 3 others 6 Quote
Madame Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 I like it. :) May I ask.. how big is your background layer (pixels), and on what terms do you decide the size? Quote - Affinity Photo 2.3.0 - Affinity Designer 2.3.0 -Affinity Publisher 2.3.0 MacBook Pro 16 GB MacOS Sonoma 14.1.2
houseofdeadleg Posted November 27, 2015 Author Posted November 27, 2015 If I'm understanding the question correctly, the document is A3 size, 300 dpi. The attachment is cropped down to show a bit more detail, there's an area of image around it and then a further area of white space around the whole image acting as a pasteboard. Madame 1 Quote

bodobe Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Very Nice. A simple art (in a positive sense), really impressive. Quote Illustration & Grafik bodobe.de
houseofdeadleg Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 I've been working on this a little bit here and there, I stopped for a couple of weeks because there was one AI feature missing from AD that I wanted to use – vector distortion/warp/envelope tools. I was hoping to do the whole image in AD but I got to the point where I just wanted to get it done, so I had to skew the artwork for the book cover in Photoshop and place in in the file, rather than just skewing/distorting the vector artwork as I wanted to do. I might do a few more bits like highlights, etc, but otherwise it's fairly much done. MEB 1 Quote
David Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Lovely, really nice work on the texturing. Once the warp tools get introduced Designer will be brilliant. houseofdeadleg 1 Quote DART | Twitter | Dribbble
houseofdeadleg Posted January 7, 2016 Author Posted January 7, 2016 Cheers:) Yeah, a few bugs fixed and a couple of features added then it'll be a full Illustrator replacement. Quote
Staff MEB Posted January 7, 2016 Staff Posted January 7, 2016 Great work :) Very nice details and shadowing/texturing. Love how you have worked the colour/shadows on the ground near the table. Looking forward for more! houseofdeadleg 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
