Close more than one project at once

Just for interest, why open multiple projects/photos at once?
APhoto is not a photo viewer (DAM), but an photo editor - so the photo should only open if it is really being edited.

P.S. and dozens more.

This user is on iPad, which has a different way of storing Affinity files - whereby multiple documents can be 'open' at once on the homescreen (and are stored in a sandboxed environment), but cannot currently be 'closed' in bulk.

@SHOOTHAPPENS, I can confirm this is logged as a improvement with our developers and I'll be sure to 'bump' this for you now :)

Please note -

I am currently out of the office for a short while whilst recovering from surgery (nothing serious!), therefore will not be available on the Forums during this time.

Should you require a response from the team in a thread I have previously replied in - please Create a New Thread and our team will be sure to reply as soon as possible.

Many thanks!

I understand that, but I don't understand why many projects/photos open at all.
After all, the viewer is used for quick viewing (open/close), not the editor.

I don't know about the OP, but quite often I find it useful to have several images open at the same time.

Sometimes when you are creating a composite image it can be a lot easier to have several images open at once, so you can edit them individually, rather than having to save and then reopen them as layers in the final image. (Obviously you can open all the layers at once, apply individual adjustments layers to each one and then get them in the right order, but personally I find it easier to have them all open in different windows at the same time to start with.}

Also if you want a series of images to "match", it can be handy to have them all open, so that you can compare them with each other, and tweek the settings. At the end of the day, I think it just depends on the type of projects you are doing and your preferred workflow.

Yes, I understand that, and I often use it. But these are always individual photos - otherwise I would get lost in them (orientation in open tabs would be completely counterproductive). That's why it's never a "whole folder at once", that evokes dozens and hundreds of files in me.
That's why the need for the missing Close/Save All functions never bothered me.

When I edit few photos from session it’s easier to my to put every pic in one project folder, so I can keep Home Screen clean. But when I’m finish edit I wait for client response because he or she can dislike my edit like colour or brightness and I need go back and make changes. When contract with client is close I would like to close whole project at once.

I'd certainly agree that I don't want / would never use a "Save All" function – it's much too easy to accidentally overwrite a file!

It's very useful when you work on long documents parted in different files, and need to do search & replace on all of them, for example (the feature doesn't exist yet in APub).

You jost need to use it smartly: if half of the 10 documents opened need to be saved, because you opened them for a specific task, and switched between them, at some point you want to "Save all" and "Close all".

You can also make a mistake when closing the app and choosing individually the files  you want to save before closing...

In this context, there is also a very annoying violation of the principle (Save/SaveAs=*.affile, PNG/TIFF/JPEG=export, see https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/63089-help-please-save-photo-as-jpeg/&do=findComment&comment=836150), because this way you can inadvertently overwrite the source image.
