Hello @Betabobby and welcome to the forums.

Here is a good explanation how child layers work (not only in APh).

AMD Ryzen 7 5700X | INTEL Arc A770 LE 16 GB  | 32 GB DDR4 3200MHz | Windows 11 Pro 23H2 (22631.3296)
AMD A10-9600P | dGPU R7 M340 (2 GB)  | 8 GB DDR4 2133 MHz | Windows 10 Home 22H2 (1945.3803)

Affinity Suite V 2.4 & Beta 2.(latest)

Still got a problem :/, when I try to apply the texture to a group it doesnt work.

You can only clip to a single object, not a group. Select the curves in the group, use the Boolean ‘Add’ command to combine the ‘Curve’ layers to form a ‘Curves’ layer, and then clip the texture layer to that new layer.

You can Mask the Group to the Texture. Do it the other way around. Offer the Group to the Texture layer, when you get the vertical blue bar release it.

I always drop the dragged item directly on top of the thumbnail of the target layer. It’s much less fiddly than getting the vertical blue bar to show up, and the end result is exactly the same.

Alfred, where can I find the boolean ,,add,, option? Its in german :/ so I cant seem to find it

There’s an entry for it on one of the menus but you can also use the first button in the Geometry section of the toolbar:
