ra.skill Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Haven’t had any problems myself. Maybe delete app and do a fresh install. Quote
rhyswoos Posted August 11, 2021 Author Posted August 11, 2021 Thanks, I've tried multiple re-installs, the only way to work, is to got the the previous version, very disappointing Quote
Dan C Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Hi @rhyswoos, Sorry to hear you're having trouble! We believe this crash in Affinity Designer is due to one of the sync'd packs through the My Account dialog (specifically the iOS 11 Assets) and therefore resetting the app back to default settings should resolve this crash for you. You can reset your app back to its default settings by holding down the CTRL key while launching the app. When the Clear User Data window appears, click Select All and then Clear. The app will now open. Be aware that resetting your app back to its default settings will lose any custom settings such as keyboard shortcuts and brushes etc. Please do let me know if this helps Quote
rhyswoos Posted August 11, 2021 Author Posted August 11, 2021 Thanks, this didn't work, the loading screen appears to datils loading fonts.. and then crashes Quote
Dan C Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 I'm sorry to hear this! The CTRL dialog should be shown before the 'loading fonts' screen appears and this method has resolved this issue for all other users experiencing the crash in Designer when loading fonts - can you please make sure that you are following the steps exactly, and are making sure that all 'reset' options are ticked in the dialog that shows? This should look as below: Thanks in advance! Quote
walt.farrell Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 On Windows, it may be necessary to press and hold Ctrl until the application icon shows up on the taskbar and then (with Ctrl still held) click on the application icon. Release Ctrl after the dialog appears. Raymondo Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 This worked for me when I had a similar problem. Like Walt says, hold control key down first, then start Designer app making sure to keep the control key down until the clear data user screen appears. Quote

KarenPL Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 This has worked for me. I now have Designer available for use. Many thanks. 😁 Dan C 1 Quote Karen
