Affinity Photo V1.10.0 release version crashes on start, beta does not.(Solved)

I upgraded this morning to V1.10 but cannot start Photo now. Tried all the usual tricks of closing all apps and doing a Forced Restart. Have not tried a re-install yet. Note I am using iPadOS 15 beta which is likely the problem, however no such problem exists on the V1.10 Beta version which works ok apart from a slow start up. iPad Pro 9.7”.

EDIT: Deleted the app and reinstalled, seems to be working now for anyone else who has a similar problem.

Hey Paul, are you having any issues with RAW images. I’ve tried two from different sources and using both Serif and Apple engines. They load then suddenly go very dark. Adjusting exposure makes it bright then it switches to dark again. The exposure slider remains in whatever position you set it to but the exposure returns to dark. Exposure slider to far right but image returns to dark setting. Weird! No issues with same images in beta version.

Edit: reboot seems to have fixed it. Very odd.

Hi Dave, I have always had some issues with the Serif Labs raw engine, it can handle my NEF Nikon raw but struggles with my Canon CR2 raw, mostly brings in a transparent image but it did once do exactly as your example did. Apple raw seems fine, at least from Files folder. I have lost access to my RAW image album in photos with this update.:-

My biggest problem now is I cannot access my Apple Photo albums :-(. Only recents are available now of my 55000+ library.
 

EDIT: (Solved - latest iPadOS 15 beta does not have this problem)

Sounds like a permission issue. It asks for approval for Recents or All.

Nope was first thing I checked. I am on the iPadOS15 beta so I do hope it is this. 

My group has many many complaints of crashing again on all platforms unfortunately, I am re-directing folk to these forums to report.

Maybe try changing to None, closing and restarting then change back to All and see if that sticks.

No that didn’t work only via recent photos can I access all my photos which is not easy with 55k photos, none of my albums or folders visible which limits access. Hopefully this is an IOS15 beta problem that is fixed in the next 15 beta release.

It is ok Walt, the missing photo albums must have been an iPadOS 15 beta issue, the latest iPadOS 15 beta this week seems to have fixed the problem for now.
