Constant freezing of Affinity-Photo (.1127)

Recommended Posts

When editing photos that require perspective correction (Live-Filter-Layer),
Affinity-Photo freezes and can only be terminated with the task manager.
It does not matter if OpenCL is enable or disenble.
I used DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to delete the NVIDIA driver.
A new installation of the actual  NVIDIA Studio driver (471.41) also brought no improvement.
The same problems also occurred in the beta (.1115)
Does anyone have similar problems?

cheers

I tried a few times and never got a crash. I have the same nVidia drivers, but I'm using Windows 11 dev, preview.

I have also attempted to force an error, but everything is working OK here.

Hello @SPaceBar,

Thanks for the answer.

Unfortunately, it also happens with other photos.
The only commonality I can see is the use of the Live Filter Perspective.
I'll keep testing, maybe I'll discover another commonality.

Cheers

@Gnobelix, just a thought: I note that the live perspective filter is buried in between other layers.  Does it make a difference if, for example it is on top? Is it worth deleting some of the other layers and see whether you still get the crash?  That might point the finger at an interaction between layers rather than the filter itself.

Hello @Subclavius,
A good idea, I will try it out.

Cheers
