nicoppc
Hello, I am using the latest stable Affinity Photo for Windows (1.9.1). It works great so far but I notice something really weird. To me, it's a bug. There is is a group of adjustement layer a white pixel layer with Soft Light 7%. disabled this pixel layer added a Vibrance layer with saturation 100% -> almost nothing happend Delete this layer -> Saturation is applied. See the attachement. I blured the person because I know she don't want to be ssen online. Can anymore reproduce this ? Have a great day Quote --Nicolas DETFotografieLes gens sont la clefEvent, Porträt, People, Hochzeit, ... carl123
You would expect the deselected pixel layer in your group to have no effect but it does and the adjustments will still only apply to objects in that group But I've seen it before where a deselected object still had an effect on something else and that was classed as "By design" So, we will just have to wait and see if this is a bug or another of those weird/confusing "By design" situations Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Staff MEB Posted March 5, 2021 Staff Share Posted March 5, 2021 Hi @nicoppc,This is by design. Currently the adjustments honour the group scope if there's data inside the group (a pixel layer in you case - no matter if it's placed above or below those adjustments and set to invisible or not). If you remove/delete the pixel layer from the group then it will act as pass-through affecting all layers (outside) below the group. So a disabled layer has an effect.. so it is not disabled ? Sarcasm: "It's not a big, it's a feature". To my mind, it's a "wrong" design. but I am not the only user out of there. Maybe you could organize a pool on the forum? Cheers Quote --Nicolas DETFotografieLes gens sont la clefEvent, Porträt, People, Hochzeit, ... Staff MEB Posted March 5, 2021 Staff Share Posted March 5, 2021 Hi nicoppc, The layer is hidden/invisible but the data still remains inside the group - technically it's not disabled. I understand this is not very intuitive and the overall passthrough behaviour differs from Photoshop and similar apps. I've have raised the issue with the developers a couple times already but currently it's indeed working as intended, sorry. nicoppc
Hi MEB, ok. This is a "point of view" which I do not share but I do respect. This is sinilar to the "bug" in the level tool. -> I would advise do ask the community if it makes sense this way or not On my side, it means "Layer can not be disable in Affinity". Have a great day PaulAffinity 1 Quote --Nicolas DETFotografieLes gens sont la clefEvent, Porträt, People, Hochzeit, ... I would not have thought of placing a pixel level in such a transfer group. Is there a particular reason that you did that? Possibly it is only for organisational reasons. nicoppc
Hi Michail, White pixel Layer + Soft Light + Transpareny allow to bright up the picture in a nice smooth way... like an adjustement. I like to have may adjustement in a group. How do you feel about this behaviour ? Regards Quote --Nicolas DETFotografieLes gens sont la clefEvent, Porträt, People, Hochzeit, ... How about this layer arrangement?: As a group, it would look like this: PaulAffinity
nicoppc
Hi Michail! It actually works "as expected" with the White Layer outside the group. Great work around Thanks a lot!
