Keith B
My shift key doesn't work as a shortcut in either designer or photos, suggestions please.
Alfred
Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Keith. (You might like to edit your original post and give this thread a meaningful topic title.) The Shift key is only a modifier, not a shortcut in its own right. Where are you trying to use it? Keith B
I've watched a few tutorials where the shift key has been used, for example, to turn a rectangle shape into a square.
Alfred
I’m not on my Windows box right now, Keith, but I got the expected behaviour the last time I tried it. Are you saying you always get an oblong, regardless of whether or not you hold down the Shift key when dragging out a new shape with the Rectangle Tool? Release the shift key only after you have released the mouse button.

The shift key should allow you to draw a square using the Rectangle Tool, but I don't know of any way it would allow you to "turn a rectangle shape into a square". carl123
If you use the Rectangle Tool to draw a Rectangle then as long as you do not release the mouse button pressing the shift key will instruct the Affinity Magical Elfs to turn that rectangle shape into a square Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum.
