duch_suva
Can I rotate the selection without rotating the selected pixels? I need to select a straight edge that is oblique. How do I do that? I attach a picture for better understanding. I want to select the paper OR the whole rest.
firstdefence
Which app are you using? For now I will assume you are using Affinity Photo... It would be easier to use a shape like the rectangle tool and make a selection from the layer. Select the rectangle Tool and pull out a square or rectangle Align the shape with the lines on the paper Go to Select . Selection from Layer. You can hide or delete the shape once you like what you have selected. Joachim_L
Add and rotate a filled rectangle until it fits your needs, then use "Select >> Selection from Layer and Delete" from the menu Select. firstdefence
See the steps above the shape must also have a fill to make a selection. duch_suva
ok now i know the rectangle doesnt only need to have a fill, but the fill cant have any opacity applied. case closed;) thanks all
carl123
You can also try this as an alternative way... 1. Make the selection 2. Duplicate the layer 3. Set duplicated layer to zero opacity 4. Rotate the selection as required 5. Delete the duplicated layer Selection will now be on original layer and rotated Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. GarryP
There is another alternative which you might be interested in, using Quick Mask. When you have your selection, press the Quick Mask button on the Toolbar and then select the Move tool. You can then manipulate your selection as you would with any other shape, see attached video for some examples. 2021-02-05_14-38-47.mp4 Old Bruce
