Affinity Designer: Gradient on a wheel

Recommended Posts

Hello.
I would like to get a radial gradient with Afinity Designer to get a color wheel (also called color circle). Here is for example a gradient from green then yellow then red then magenta then blue then cyan then green.

How to proceed?

6 cœurs, 12 processus - Windows 11 pro - 4K - DirectX 12 - Suite universelle Affinity (Affinity  Publisher, Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo).

Mais je vous le demande, peut-on imaginer une police sans sérifs ?

All right! I've figured out how to do this.

Here is the corresponding AFDESIGNER file.

For anyone wondering how it’s done, in case you can’t find how it’s done from the file attached above, you can use the Fill Tool (Designer or Publisher) or Gradient Tool (Photo) set to a Type of Conical, see attached screengrab.

I can’t see any way to get rid of the bright lines at the cyan, magenta and yellow stops. Am I missing something? :/

I haven’t been able to come up with anything nice but I don’t know enough about colours to know what I should be doing.
I thought I might be able to use HSL colours to get something nice that looks like the HSL colour wheel in the apps but something strange is happening that I don’t understand. I probably just need to read more about it.
The attached image shows how far I got in an RGB/16 colour space – don’t know how that’s come through into a screengrab – with no effects (the ‘lines’ are still visible when the donut centre is removed).
