Nika
Hello, Unfortunately, Georgian font can't be displayed in Affinity Photo. It's not supported I guess. Could you please add Georgian fonts in future versions. Thanks for considering my request. Br, Nika
walt.farrell
Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @Nika. A couple of points: According to the Context Toolbar, I think you're trying to use Arial (not Georgian). Fonts are not installed in the Affinity applications; they are installed in your system (or your system's font manager), and Affinity uses them there. Your Context Toolbar shows ! Arial which confuses me a bit. I know that ? Arial would mean the font is not installed, but I don't know what the ! means. You might check your font manager. Perhaps the font is installed but disabled there? I thought the ‘!’ meant the font is ‘protected’, which is related to the ‘Restricted’ embeddability option, but I can’t see how that would show up in anything other than an imported document. As for the ‘Georgian’ question, I wonder whether the OP is looking for Georgian language support in Affinity Photo. And they often do not fix all the name fields correctly. So it would help to be able to examine the actual font. But it's still weird, because in other applications like Keynote, Pages, etc they all work fine including Arial. 22 hours ago, Alfred said: I thought the ‘!’ meant the font is ‘protected’, which is related to the ‘Restricted’ embeddability option, but I can’t see how that would show up in anything other than an imported document. I meant Georgian font specifically but Georgian language support would be greatly appreciated as well.😊 9 hours ago, LibreTraining said: Please attach the font. Some applications silently switch to a ‘fallback’ font for glyphs which are not included in the font chosen by the user, but the Affinity apps don’t do this. Arial - does not have support for Georgian. Arial Unicode MS - does have support for Georgian. Other Windows fonts ... Calibri - also supports Georgian. Segoe UI - also supports Georgian. You may not be able to attach files until you have a certain number of posts. Upload the font file to a free host such as workupload dot com and send me a link via PM. Helmar
I downloaded Sylfaen from fonts.ge, installed it, and APhoto shows it just fine. You will obviously have to change to a Georgian keyboard layout, otherwise you will see Latin characters. 🙂 Helmar
Nika
Thanks once again everyone for advice. Honestly, I'm using Arial Unicode MS since then and it just works fine. 🎉 Br, Nika Alfred
