daveb2
I have attached a photo where I replaced a bland sky with one more dramatic. I followed Affinity's Sky replacement tutorial. The problem is when in enlarged, there is a white line between the foreground and sky. A second issue is when I zoom in and refine some of the rocks and bushes will not take the refinement. How do I avoid this? What am I doing wrong? Thanks,
AffinityJules
There are many roads that lead to Rome when replacing sky, and I'm sure that everyone who performs such editing has their own way of doing it. I get better results by using the selection brush only, I do not use the refine option because in my own experience it produces unwanted artifacts. Rather than use the refine option try just a bit of feathering instead. I had to shrink my selection with your picture because of ghosting that was already there. Quote Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe. These are not my own words but I sure like this quote. Can you upload the APhoto document that produced your screenshot, then we will be better placed to make a suggestion as to how to fix it? All I have is the modified version. I know, stupid. Oh dear, well the only things to try are Jules method whereby you crop the top edge out, get a texture brush to a small size and paint colour over the edge, this requires colour sampling which can be done on the fly using the control key and dragging the brush to pick a colour nearby. The best method Ive tried is to use the clone tool with a spray and spatter brush - the last one called watercolour modulating drops, and set it to 7-8px then clone nearby changing the clone point frequently. doing this will get a look like this... So this is before cloning and this is after cloning Notice I’m using a separate pixel layer to keep editing non destructive. daveb2
Pšenda I cannot find the file in any form. I have a separate backup on a removable HD. I found where it should have been, but it was not there. I can't believe I did this. Live and learn! I will try the suggestions above and if successful, I will post the results, Thanks, everyone for the help.
firstdefence
@daveb2 Are you on Windows or Mac? If Mac you can use time machine to bring back a file if time machine is active If Windows, you can sometimes use shadow copies to get files back: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shadow_copy_view.html Quote iMac 27" 2019 Somona 14.4.1, iMac 27" Affinity Designer, Photo & Publisher V1 & V2, Adobe, Inkscape, Vectorstyler, Blender, C4D, Sketchup + more...
