jackamus
As a previous user of DPX5 I was able to edit the number of points of a QS Star plus other variables. This does not appear to be available in Afinity. Quote If voting made any difference it wouldn't be allowed! Rules are for the guidance of wise men and the obedience of fools. Staff MEB Posted September 19, 2014 Staff Share Posted September 19, 2014 jackamus, Check the triangle Tool (hold down the button until a list of all quick shapes appear). The variables for each shape are on the context toolbar on the top, or just move the red points of the quick shapes on canvas to change their properties. Staff Ben Posted September 19, 2014 Staff Share Posted September 19, 2014 Yes - all the editability is there, plus more. I spent a lot of time on the shapes making them much more dynamic than anything in the Plus range. We have greater customisation of Shapes, plus smart snapping points to help you craft geometrically pleasing results. peter
Are we sticking with the red dot system, to adjust Quickshapes, or will you return to the external bounding box sliders as seen in DP? I do prefer the external boxes, there is more separation, I like the half way markers though. The numbers in the top tool bar are a nice touch! What about including grids, chequerboards and polkadots? Staff Andy Somerfield Posted October 10, 2014 Staff Share Posted October 10, 2014 I'm afraid we're sticking with the dots.. Those sliders around the edge of the boxes in the Plus range were a UX problem for me - how do I know which slider does what?! We obviously have named controls in the context toolbar too, so I would hope people will get used to how it works. Unclosed shapes were, I think, also a mistake before. Thanks, AndyS
peter
The context bar control layout is an improvement after trying it for a while! However could the buttons in the context bar, glow, bounce or change border colour when selected. Something similar to the help file search results? Put this down to old age/DP ingrained knowledge. Does this mean that the Plus range are going to nab/share these little gems? Is there any rivalry now between the two teams in Nottingham? :P Quote MacBook pro, 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB, OS X 10.11.6 http://www.pinterest.com/peter2111
