Please Share Libraries Across All Software!

Recommended Posts

For example, macros, gradient maps, keyboard shortcuts etc should all be referencing the same libraries so that way if you make an adjustment in individual programs or in Studio Link they all are affected by it. Why this isn't already happening is weird to me, seems like such a simple and powerful adjustment to make. Right now you can copy those settings across 3 programs but that's a hassle.

This has been discussed multiple times already on the forums.

The apps started on the Mac and were originally sold only in the app store.

Sandboxing restrictions of the app store make sharing data like that very difficult to do when working across multiple applications.

While in theory the apps purchased outside of the app stores should be able to do this more easily, Serif seems to be trying to maintain feature parity as much as reasonably possible across the platforms and the different ways of purchasing the apps.

This rules out any "normal" mechanisms for sharing these libraries and trying to provide an alternative solution would likely complicate the interface for users more than they think it is worth.

I still secretly hope that Affinity DAM will also be able to sync Affinity specific settings, assets, etc. This would set it apart from many other asset management software.
