Vector Brush repeated use causes freeze and crash

Hello!

I had this problem at least twice now, and want to report it.

When using the brush repeatedly, while having pen pressure on, affinity designer freezes and crashes,
after a few quick brush strokes.

I tried it without the pen pressure and it works fine without it, i think.

Only setting I have changes i that I disabled Windows Ink inside of Affinity Designer and on my tablet.
I don't have any issues with pen pressure on Affinity Photo,
so I personally think the vector brush tool in Affinity Designer with
pressure sensitivity ON is just bugged.

Hope you can reproduce this problem and fix it.

GPU: RX Vega 56
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 CPU
Graphics Tablet: Huion Inspiroy 950P.
RAM: 16 GB of something.

Thanks for the video - this is something that we're aware of and reported to development a lot of quick sudden brush strokes with the Vector Brush Tool (especially with pressure) is causing the app to stop responding. I will get the issue bumped with development and get your comments passed on to them.

It’s December now, and I got the same freeze today...when will you fix it ? 20$ for an unusable app which freezes every five seconds... Just fix it !

Just to continue this topic - I am experiencing this on 1.9.1.979

Same circumstances as reported above.

It's crippling my ability to use Designer for work.

Hello everyone,

I don't know which update it was, but in one of the update, they fixed the crashes.

I did this quick drawing, and tried to make affinity designer crash.

 

Doesn't crash anymore. It's pretty fun to draw in affinity designer and go ham.

I don't know what it is, but sketching with this tool feels really fun.

Reporting this freeze/crash keeps happening in latest Ver 1.9.2.1035 (April 2021), also when using pressure vector brush. I am using Win 7.

When would this be fixed?

Same issue here on Both Publisher's designer persona 2.3.1 and Designer 2.3.1
I also noticed big slowdowns and random crashes while using any kind of vector brush with my wacom tablet
With an Intuos PRO on Windows
