Kimmodereuver Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 I’m working on an exhibition on my iPad Pro 2018 12,9 inch in Designer. I’m about to print large scale reboard panels hence the large canvas size. When I try to substract (or intersect or add) the cyan and magenta objects it gives back unwanted results. When I scale down the design, it works flawlessly. It has something to do with the size. Quote
Staff Sean P Posted March 26, 2020 Staff Posted March 26, 2020 Hi Kimmodereuver, Would you be able to attach a copy of the document you're using please? Boolean issues can be very specific to the geometry, so it makes it easier for us to try and reproduce the issues. Quote

XXBeforeDecaf Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Did 1.8 even resolve anything? Constant Boolean bugs on such simple shapes is unacceptable. We should all get refunds until this is solved. Quote

XXBeforeDecaf Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 Did you not read the post above yours? What about it? I'm using 1.8.3 and the Boolean problems that plague AD are very much alive and well. Quote

That may be so but venting here doesn’t help fix those bugs. The specific problem outlined in the OPs post was addressed in 1.8.3.2. If you still are experiencing problems with other types of Boolean operations (and it sounds like you are), then you should report the details of each (separate posts) with examples attached if available. Also give your iPad details as different models seem to suffer different problems. That is the correct way to get issues fixed. If you want to pursue a refund you need to take it up with Apple store as they handle refunds not Affinity. Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen). XXBeforeDecaf Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 I was making a general comment about Boolean Plague, not about any one particular problem. Specifically, I was referring to all of the BS hype surrounding 1.8 that didn’t really seem to resolve much. Certainly not for a piece of industry leading “professional” software. For what’s its worth, my current project gets the same lousy results on my iPad Pro (1.8.3) as my MacOS Desktop (previous update). I some how doubt one more post about my specific problem is going to make the devs work any harder on resolving this issue that’s existed since day one. I appreciate you walking me through how to properly post in this forum. Now that I know you take it so personally, I’ll probably just continue doing it my own way. Cheers. Quote

It’s really not personal. If your method of reporting issues is getting you the outcomes you want, you should probably stick with it. Cheers.
