manuel.s90 Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 Hello, as a very happy user of Photo and Designer I recently started using Publisher. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem as stable as the other two programs. My biggest problem at the moment is that Publisher just crashes whenever I try to create a table of contents. The TOC actually is created, but Publisher crashes right after. I've attached the file and would really appreciate any help. Calisthenics Starter Guide.afpub Quote
Staff Pauls Posted March 23, 2020 Staff Posted March 23, 2020 I've not been bale to recreate that here with your file. Can you confirm the versions of OS and Publisher you are using. Also if you can upload a crash report that would be useful Quote
Staff Jon P Posted March 27, 2020 Staff Posted March 27, 2020 Can you also let us know what styles you are using when creating the ToC and if you change these if it has any effect Quote Serif Europe Ltd. - www.serif.com
Allen Romano Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 (edited) I have the same problem exactly as Manuel.s90. No crash report is generated. Publisher version 1.8.3.641. Windows 7. I reduced the number of text styles to "none" for body copy and "heading 2" for all other headings. Publisher generates a table of contents, and highlights heading 2 in the text styles panel. And then freezes. As to crash report, I don't think a crash report is generated. I don't see any on screen. Edited June 7, 2020 by Allen Romano more info Quote
Staff Jon P Posted June 9, 2020 Staff Posted June 9, 2020 @Allen Romano Can you upload the file here and we can take a look Thanks Quote Serif Europe Ltd. - www.serif.com
Allen Romano Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 i dont have a crash report to upload i looked in the appropriate folder and there was no crash report Quote
Allen Romano Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 I experimented much more with the text styles. Conclusion: They work fine, no crash, IF you DO NOT scroll to the bottom of the text style panel. Strange ? Yes, and repeatable. If you scroll to the bottom, the "No Style" banner appears AGAIN. Crashes every time. If I do not scroll to the bottom, Text Styles works fine. Hmmmmm.... Quote
Hadriscus Posted January 14, 2021 Posted January 14, 2021 Hi all, I am getting instant crashes on creating a table of contents (when clicking on "insert table of contents"), on Windows 10, AP version 1.8.5.703. This is problematic as I have a deadline approaching. If I can't make it work I'll do it by hand, of course. Here is my file. Can someone take a look at it ? Focus the body of text on page 3 and try inserting a TOC. Thanks, Hadrien guide_v023.afpub Quote

That crashes Publisher for me, too (both 1.8 and 1.9 beta).
