Would be great to be able to create or resize artboards/documents from selected art.

Hi @evtonic3,

Switch to the Artboard Tool. Then from the 'Size' dropdown (top left) select 'Selection' and hit 'Insert Artboard'.

But there is no automatic way to resize an artboard to a selected object.

Cheers,

I don't understand how this most basic of functionality doesn't exist. It's essential when exporting any SVG for the web to have the artboard fit the artwork. Illustrator has had this feature forever and even Inkscape has it. Please tell me that 4 years on there is now a way to do this that I just can't find.

Note that it doesn't even have to be to the selected artwork - it could just be all artwork on the artboard - that would be sufficient.

Hello!

Using Designer V1 on Wind Desktop, why can't I unclip the artboard? I have nothing selected, Im using the selection tool, and the menu View » View Mode » Clip to Canvas doesn't allow me to change to unclip.

Is this a bug or theres a way?

‘Clip to Canvas’ is exactly what it says. It doesn’t work with artboards, it only works with the canvas.
