Video showcasing misbehavior of the Geometry > Subtract feature. If the functionality has changed on version 1.8, great! - However, it does not seem logical to me. This video demos yours truly trying to Subtract a rectangle from a circular shape which had already had another subtract on it. The original Subtraction result seems to be interacting with the second subtract in an odd and unpredictable manner, creating an end-result which is not intended.

i have attempted to duplicate the working file, create new file from scratch, remake the shapes, duplicating the shapes and even export the file to .svg. This supposed issue is prevalent in all the above scenarios.

if this is a bug, I suggest a prompt update addresses this, as it is a core feature of the application.

Working ok for me. Draw a circle and subtracted a rectangle. Video shows now subtracting a heart shape from previous subtraction result. Second video adds another rectangle instead of heart.

Hi Dash,

Would you be able to attach a copy of the file used in the video please? If you could also save it with history that would be great! I've tried to reproduce but am getting the same results as DM1.

The issue occurs when rounding the corners of the rectangles prior to subtracting. I got i to work once but couldn’t repeat it. It works correctly though if you subtract the rectangles from the circle first, then round the corners.

HI all.

I have another issue related to unlogical subtraction behavior, so I stick to this thread although my problem contains a much more simple operation.

As you can see subtracting two shapes works differently in both operations. First (which results in shape A) works as intended, second (B) does not.

Version is 1.8 (same problem with previous version)

p.s.: This is by far nor the first problem I had when combining shapes with each other (adding points, moving lines for unknown reasons ,...). You really need to make that operations reliable and stable.

I find myself switching to my rig (and Illustrator) almost every time I am working on a project, because even simple tasks tend to cause problems. :(
