Seba2004 Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 Hello, I have a problem with merging (joining) shapes. I would like to round the left side of the pimple by a circle. I select both shapes and choose "DIVIDE" from the menu. Then I remove what is unnecessary and merge the necessary shapes with the "ADD" button - and here comes the problem ..... After merging the shapes, a rope connecting the two shapes often appears - sometimes all of the time, sometimes a part of it ... (from what I've dealt with, the problem mainly occurs if you want to give a circle shape to any geometrical figure). What am I doing wrong ?? Please direct what to do so that both shapes after merging form a whole without a joining line. Thank you. Quote
Pšenda Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 Node Tool and delete it. The problem is in joining two curved surfaces that only touch - do not overlap. firstdefence Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 Use the pie shape to get a much neater result. If after adding you have a Curves(s) layer you can always go back before the boolean add, convert the Pie shape to a curve bend the adjoining line towards the rectangle slightly and boolean add again, you should then have a curve layer. v_kyr Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 Use a rounded rectangle shape, it can be adjusted like that and is just one whole shape object then to deal with. So there is no need to combine several shapes afterwards.
