Mhamad Harmush
I bought a license for Affinity Designer & another one for Affinity Photo thinking that they offer animating 2D like other free or paid software (eg: Krita, Blender, PS, AI etc..) and it can be replacing them in case of working with 2D drawing and animating. With drawing 2D its really amazing and super easy, but I found that creating animation is not available in both. Also, I found an old article asking the same question. Is creating an animation still unavailable in affinity designer or affinity photo? or is there a real intent to make it available? Also, is adding a skeleton like spine will be available soon? Note: Drawing amazing 2D graphics and animating them is already available in other free software like Blender & Krita. Staff Callum Posted November 30, 2019 Staff Share Posted November 30, 2019 Hi Mhamad, Welcome to the forums At this point in time we still have no plans to create animation software, however that doesn't mean it can't happen. Thanks C Mhamad Harmush 1 Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
Mhamad Harmush
Adding a basic timeline animation is very easy for you comparing to the other functions that you already did. I hope you add a timeline animation as a feature in the next update because a lot of 2D game designers & animators still use photoshop because of the animation timeline. Xenops
I also recommend the development team to consider adding a Timeline-feature for animation: if people are turning to Affinity products as Adobe alternatives, then it makes sense for Affinity to make available the features that their competitors have. Why give consumers a reason to prefer the competitors? Mhamad Harmush
Hassan Bazarah
i agree with harmosh...i hope its will be available soon ....Their presence in other programs in the free form also .. means that you can add them ... there are no limits that prevent the development and success of the program Mhamad Harmush
SrPx
It is a different type of software, with very advanced requirements and UI space and UI distribution. Yes PS embeds everything in one solution, but is not often ideal. I am not against it, though. ashf and 000 2 Quote AD, AP and APub. V1.10.6 (not using v1.x anymore) and V2.4.x. ashf
Designer might need UI animation thing like Sketch, XD and Figma. It's a hot trend now. Fixx
