Hello all, I am trying to edit RAW files from my sony a6500. Affinity is showing the files as RAW when I go to import, but only about half the time are the photos actually loading as a RAW in the develop module. Sometimes they do, sometimes they dont, there doesnt seem to be any pattern or consistency. Any thoughts? Thanks. -
Hi all! I got a serious problem with some jpeg files after importing them. I tried to open a jpeg of a Corona sixpack (no promoting intended) in AP and this happens. Most parts of the photo are missing and the missing parts are transparent. Any ideas?? The issue is not present if I first open the jpeg in any other software and convert it to .png but I would really like to safe the time bc I work on thousands of photos... (sorry if a similar issue has already been posted and I missed it)

Hello, confusion reigns. I am importing jpeg images from Olympus 16meg micro 4/3 camera to iPad using SD card adaptor and wirelessly using Cascable. When I view file size in iPad Photos using the app EXIF Wizard Pro it tell me they are about 2meg. In iPad files it tell me same file size 2meg. When I open these same JPEGs in Affinity and then export them the file size is 9meg, this is the file size I would expect. I have tried this with both raw and jpeg imports and jpeg only imports. Am I getting confused with thumbnail images and full resolution images when I query the file size? As mentioned I am getting 2meg file size in both Iphoto and in Files. is the image size being artificially increased when it is put into Affinity. is the app only giving me the size of the thumbnail and Affinity automatically open full resolution image? any thoughts greatly appreciated. David

I'm trying to add an image to an existing image. Whenever I import the image, it completely fills the existing image and can't be resized. So I created an additional image (afphoto file) because files in the afphoto format can be resized. However, when I complete the following steps nothing is shown on the screen. If I use the square tool and try to paste the new image inside a created field, nothing happens except the square field remains.

I am trying to install the bonuses but when I try to send them to my iPad, it says "sent" but they do not appear on my iPad. When I try to import, there is nothing in recent. I install and import with all kinds of other apps but I am perplexed with this one. Help is appreciated.

How about adding the FITS file extension so those of us who do Astrophotography can import the files directly into the Affinity Photo program without having to go through a 3rd party conversion program and stacking them in a 3rd party program then having to convert those LRGB images to TIFF extensions before importing the LRGB TIFF channels to Affinity Photo? It would sure be nice to just import the FITS images into the 'Add' Affinity stacking feature of Affinity then they would be easily moved to the channels without using third party programs before stretching and processing. -
Hello, I'm testing the 10 days trial of Affinity Photo and have an issue with multi-layer TIFF images generated by Adobe Photoshop: when I import such images into Affinity Photo, all layers are gone, flattened into a single layer. Is there a way to make Photo recognize the Photoshop's multi-layer TIFFs? Thank you for your help! -
I have updated to 1.6.7 on my IOS device (IPad pro, iOS 11.2.6) When I am trying to import ORF raw files (TG 5) no image is displayed in the raw development window, when I tap “develop” Affinity crashes, I am able tough to import ORF RAW files from an EM5 mk 2 Camera, is the Olympus TG 5 not supported by Affinity in spite of the IOS support for this camera? If not, when can I expect support for this camera?

When I import a RAW file taken on the IPhone and develop it in Affinity’s RAW persona, and then do my processing and save the resulting AFF file, the thumbnail of that image shows in the Home screen as RGB 16 bit below the image dimensions. I’m a little confused; is this 16 bit/channel in the RGB, or the rather restrictive 16-bit RGB format? Sorry for a rather basic question, but I haven’t found an answer online. Thanks in advance. I’ve just downloaded the Affinity Photo app for the iPad and have a workflow question. I come from using LR on an iMac. I shoot a very large number of Photos per session. I might cull 80% of them immediately, as soon as I get a good view of the images. But in this iPad workflow, the problem is that once I pop my SD card into the reader, hundreds of photos (eventually) show up in the Photos app Import page, and from the small size of the thumbnails I cannot tell if an image is a keeper or not. I don’t want to import all the photos and then delete later—it will take forever, plus needlessly transfer all the photos to iCloud. Is there a solution to this I’m not thinking about? Is there a way to see larger thumbnails I don’t know about? Or a better import app that shows me larger images? Or perhaps is there an app that would let me look into the sd card and view them larger, before importing? -
I'm gonna guess this is in here somewhere... but I just got done spending 267 years of my mental life with Adobe support due to syncing issues their lovely cloud based system has brought into my already complicated life. If I have both Affinity for Desktop (windows 10 for now) and ipad pro... Will I be able to jump back and forth with my current edits. I know there is no cloud based syncing... I don't care.... But, if I'm editing on the go on my ipad, come home and want to continue where I left off on my desktop... will I be able to export from my ipad into affinity on my desktop and back again if necessary with my raw files? without creating 5 copies... or am I simply stuck with one or the other depending on where I start editing? P.S. sorry if this has been asked somewhere and answered... I just ... my eyes can't bleed anymore -
Hi, in Affinity there are nice tools to stack photos (focus, panorama, ...) :-) It is not possible to sent files from outside the program directly to this tools. But this would be nice, becaus of integration in Lightroolm and similar software. In the moment you can sent more photos to Affinity, but you are not able to use them in the stacking tools. Of cause, a "real" Lightroom integration would be the best for the workflow. For the moment it will help, if there will be a way to send photos to all tools in Affinity (and reimport the result). Hello! I'm a Capture One user. I've been exporting tiff files & doing heavy retouching in AP before rounding back to finish color edits/crops/batching in C1p. Then i saw this and I'm wondering if i should: a) switch to PSDs assuming they're "better" b) continue using tif files because they work just fine c) ask you guys why the 2 best Adobe competitors aren't working together on making this workflow C1p-AP-C1p using afphoto files I'm going to be honest. If Serif wastes development funds on pushing a Lightroom competitor into an overcrowded market (rather than a legit asset manager like bridge) I'll be pretty disappointed. I'm sure no one cares. Serif already has >$100 from me & I'll rush the queue to get at that publisher sweetness when it comes either way. But, real innovation & working with industry leaders (as serif has with x-rite) is what I'm looking for.

Hi, i'm new to these forums and the Affinity suite, please forgive me if this has been brought up before, a cursory search did not return relevant posts for me. I'm looking for a way to synchronise presets in the develop persona between computers and Affinity Photo and Affinity Photo Beta. There seems to be no UI for this, but perhaps these presets can be synchronised between preference storage, where are the develop presets stored on macOS? -
It would be good if the programme would allow the user to import directly by using a scanner.

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could shed light on the import of Adobe Illustrator files (.ai) into either Affinity Photo, or Designer. Upon opening an .ai file you are presented with a window. The window is titled "PDF Options". First up, I'm not importing a PDF, but a vector .ai file type. I would expect that either Affinity Photo or Designer would distinguish the difference. Additionally you are presented with an odd, overly dark black & white thumbnail of the file. Why is the thumbnail so poor quality and not in colour? The whole layout of the import window just doesn't lend itself to what you would expect when importing vector files, especially in Affinity Designer. I can understand that Affinity Photo might have less options, but Affinity Designer using the same import window? Why is it even necessary for an import window in Designer if there are no necessary options? Is this a bug, or something I don't get? Thanks.

I want to import/place the following SVG file (hlines.svg). It looks correct in Illustrator. I can also open the file in Chrome and it looks correct. Here is how it looks when imported/placed in Designer: It is faint, but only the square in the upper left corner appears and it is missing the two horizontal black bars. How do I fix this? If I open the file it looks similar but I get a long list of layers. It seems that all of the boxes are being stacked on top of each other. I can select a layer and then move the SVG object to a different location. In this example, I moved each of the boxes from the upper left corner, where they were stacked on top of each other. I don't care if the objects are on separate layers or flattened on the same layer. I am not doing any editing except for scaling the entire image to 30 in x 30 in. I just need it to look like the image at the top, hLines.svg

Good evening everyone, I've a little question because I'm new to Photo and I cannot understand if I'm doing something wrong or if it's an Affinity Photo problem. I'm opening a Multichannel OpenEXR generated by Blender that contains all my render passes (I've check that with a compositing software and all the passes are there) but Photo only show me into the layer tab the RGB "beauty" channel and the alpha one. I don't understand why that's happen because as far as I know Photo should support Multichannel OpenEXR without any problem. I'm missing something or I've found a potential bug/issue? Hi there, I just purchased affinity and imported RAW (CR2) files but it looks like Affinity doesn't support it. The images displayed on Affinity are pinkish in colour. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the Canon 6D Mark II I had recently bought. I wouldn't think it's the SD card because that would save what type of files we select. There's no issues importing jpeg files. Does anyone have a solution to this? Thanks in advance. Nick -
I have a FH file that extensively uses the glow effect; I am wondering if AD can't open that? Another FH files without the effect appears to be able to open the file.
