  1. Personally, I have been having a hard time accepting AP as a replacement for PS. There is a performance issue and quality issue. I have attached a side-by-side example of a NEF image taken with my D750, both zoomed too 100% . The image were processed similarly, or as best I could. You can PS did a much better job, especially in regards to sharpeness. Has anyone else done this comparison? If so, what were your results?
  2. I like the before and after view icons in Develop Persona but can't find a way to get the same functionality in Photo Persona. I'd like to be able to switch between my original image and the results of edits (all adjustments, filters, etc.). In Photoshop you just CMD-click the background layer's checkbox, I think, but I can't find this functionality in Affinity Photo. I tried searching for "before and after" in this forum, but it's to smart for me. I knows that I'm really searching for "before after", and it finds nothing. Thanks for your help. If this can be done, I know it's quit
  3. Hi! I already bought Affinity Designer, Publisher and Photo. Fine gems! So I just acquired Affinity Photo for iPad but I must say that I am a bit confused... As there are many differences between the desktop and the iPad versions, do you know where I can find a comprehensive list of the functionalities actually available on this Affinity Photo for iPad version ? It would be very much appreciated Any ideas ? Thanks!
  4. This AppleInsider article was very positive in its comparison of Publisher with other established publishing tools. In particular, the star of the article is Publisher's StudioLink feature.
  5. Hi, I'm new to the Affinity family of products, having bought Affinity Photo. Is it possible to get a poster but only with the standard size of paper in my printer with any of Affinity's programs? In Corel Draw: I was able to stitch the tiles together after printing, to make the poster. Which of your programs is closest to the overall functionality of Corel Draw? I'd like to switch over to Affinity. Is there a way to see a comparison of all three programs, as they seam to have overlapping features? I'd like to see especially what makes Designer and Publisher unique from each oth
  6. Hi, I'm Nekodificador, visual artist and content creator from Spain. I have a Youtube channel where I show my workflows, secrets and teach retouching and compositing throught tutorials. I fell in love with Affinity Photo but when I wanted to change from Photoshop it took me a while to learn it, so I did a video where I show how to do a few things in Photoshop and how to "translate" them into Affinity Photo. It is in spanish, but I hope it will be useful for everyone. Btw, it seem like we have new brothers in our community after this video. Oops hahah
  7. Does anyone here have a link to or access to a feature comparison chart for Affinity Photo and Adobe Photoshop? I'm asking for a friend — really. My friend is considering either updating to a more recent version of Photoshop CC or else moving over to Affinity Photo. My talking about software is great, but I would also like to show him some resources other than my own enthusiasm. Thanks in advance.
  8. Hi there, I've evaluating Affinity to work with the raw files from my Canon 70D. For a test I started from a very underexposed picture. With Affinity I followed the lineguides from this tutorial: https://vimeo.com/channels/affinityphoto/202715178 but the best I can get is a quite dull image. See the second attachment. On the other had I see that with a few settings in LightRoom, the software I'd like to leave, I'm albe to achieve better results. See the third image. I'm wondering: I'm missing any step, settings or confi
  9. Hallo dear people from affinity, first i have to admit , that i love your program. It allready has got a very complete and great toolset when it comes to refining images and photos and for sure is on one level with Adobe photoshop, just for an increadible smal amount of money.. After researching the toolset of this program for my architectural company, i still can say it is a great program. But there are areas of the program, that are just much slower , thinking of the workflow of a usual architectual company, and the way Architects have to deal with competitions. Especialy
  10. Hi everyone, I just got a 12000 pix x 12000pix Psd file from some colleques from Berlin, that do big 3D Rendercompositions, to fulfill the wishes of our architectural company. This psd file has about 3.55 GB, while the saved affinity photo has got about 1.8 GB. So in the computermemory after opening , Photohop uses about 20 GB while affinity uses 6.8 GB.. the opening in PHotoshop takes abut 100 Secounds, while opening the affinity file in affinity, takes about 6 sec. only thing, where Photoshop seeems to win is Viewport speed.. In Photoshop for example i can zoo
  11. So... I wanted to see how Affinity Designer's pixel painting feature set stacked up to Photoshop's with a little experiment. I had created this Bunny illustration in Photoshop CS4 (yes I know I'm a little behind the curve) and decided to take a crack at it in AD. I was excited with some earlier attempts at painting in AD so I thought a back to back comparison would really reveal it's strengths and/or weaknesses. The original image on the left is PS the recreated AD image is on the right. The other two images are from AD with a background added. Years ago I used to be an airbrush artis
