I know this question has been asked for Affinity Photo and people actually could, but I'm wondering if there is any way we could use them in Affinity Designer too? I'm asking specifically because I have an icon program that I use in photoshop (https://iconscout.com/icondrop/for-office) which I'm hoping I could use with affinity designer as their native windows app is still under development.

I recently purchased a PS plugin to be downloaded into Affinity Photo. Specifically it is by Fixel Algorithms called Edgehancer. I unzipped it and downloaded it into the plugins folder. When i go to use it it shows as being in the download menu but when i click it nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong or is it incompatible with AP. I have downloaded the NIK suite and it appears to work fine.

Just downloaded the beta and I was wondering what plugins will work? Also will any Photoshop Extensions work?

One thing I have noticed is if the image has been cropped before using NIK Silver FX Pro the uncropped image appears in the plugin but when the image returns to AP it is as cropped.

Hi, I'm a graphic designer specializing in book covers and I'm considering making the switch from Adobe to your programs. They look absolutely beautiful and I've downloaded the free trial of Design to test out but noticed there isn't a free trial for photo. I want to test the program out before I make the switch mainly to see if the Photoshop Plugins and actions I have will work. Is there a trial I can download? And will the plugins and what not I've purchased for Photoshop work in your program? Thanks for your time!

Hi, When running - any - of my Photoshop compatible plugins the preview in the plugin shows a lot of transparency while the active image is a normal background layer photo without transparency. Any way to get rid of this? Other than that the plugins work fine and the set effect is rendered properly in Affinity. Roberto

Affinity Photo IS Not Seing my PhotoShop plugins from Topaz.

Hi, When executing a Photoshop plugin (.8bf) effect nothing shows if anything is happening or not. Usually image editors supporting Photoshop compatible plugins feature a progress bar of the plugin rendering the image. Even though that bar isn't always showing actual 'count down' (sometimes the progress bar starts over a couple of times, depending on the plugin) but at least it indicates the plugin effect is still being processed. Particularly Filter Forge effects consume considerable rendering time: I can't tell whether Affinity is either still busy or has ignored the rendering task. The circular 'busy' cursor isn't always showing; sometimes it just shows the ordinary arrow cursor. Don't like to depend on the circular 'busy' cursor anyway since it also shows when software has crashed. In short: it would be very helpful if Affinity Photo would feature a plugin progress bar, just like any other image editor does. Roberto

I've installed google NIK photoshop plugins and they seem to be working. I've also installed ColorPerfect, but when i try to use it Affinity Photos crashes, any ideas

Hello. Now testing AP for my professional retouching job. Have some questions: 1. Paint Mixer Brush. How can I make it "auto clean"? I can see "auto load" option, but for retouching purposes auto clean is very needed! To click "clean brush" after each stroke is pain. 2. Frequency Separation as a filter is amazing feature! But I need copy of each layer to work on them. And I need clipping mask option for layers. Is there any same thing in AP? 3. And MAIN QUESTION - Imagenomic Portaiture plugin. I'm using it everyday for blurring low frequency layer. It quite nice for this operation. I added plugin's directory to list and it even starting. I can see it's interface but... nothing works. New layer with mask - nothing happend. Just new layer - nothing. And when I tried to apply it to current layer - AP hangs up. So.. what about this plugin? It's very famous and usable. As famous as Nik software plugin pack. That's all for now. Continue testing..

I have two Topaz Labs plugins: Topaz Denoise 6 and Topaz Detail 3. How can I transfer them into Affinity Photo, and once installed, how to use them ? Thanks in advance Baron

I know Affinity Photo can use Ps plugins, but I can't find anything in Help or online about how to do it. Can someone please direct me to a solution or tutorial? Thanks!

I have found a few free plugin filters for Apple Photos but when I try to set them up in Affinity Photo they do not work. I have gone into Preferences and done the necessary set up to get them to work but they do not seem to work with Affinity Photo. One set of these freebies is by On1 Effects and the other one is by Macphun Creative Kit. Any suggestions to how to get them to work and if they don't any idea when they will? I really like using Affinity Photo but in my opinion the most important update feature they need to work on is getting photoshop plugins to work with Affinity Photo. Once they do this Affinity Photo will truly be a serious competitor for Photoshop.

Photoshop Plugins: Most do not work or perform wrong function: I went to the plugins section in the preferences section. I added PS CS6 program under plugin search folder. I added \ as the path by selecting my mac hard drive. Am I missing something?

I searched for an answer but came up empty. How do I get my plugins to work in Affinity Photo? I have been able to make them show up in the Filters, but they don't do anything. I would like to be able to use Portraiture, and NIK software to start. Thanks!

Hello, I am using the trial version. The deal breaker for me is being able to transfer my plugins from Photoshophotoshop to Affinity. I have read and understand how to do it from the directions; however, it seems the trial version will not let me do it or I do not understand it as well as I thought. Does the trial version let one do this? Thanks for your help. Jim

During the beta testing my NIK plugins for the most part worked on and off. It was stated that compatibility with photoshop plugins was one of the priorities but on release... seems like ti didn't happen. I did contact the NIK plugin people to be sure they were on board and they stated it was up to Affinity to implement the compatibility. (Not sure if that's 100% true, I don't know how these things work). So I am asking when/if such a function might be brought back into the software. I use these particular plugins daily for work and if they were all working in Affinity photo, honestly i could pretty dump photoshop for just about anything else i use it for currently.

If it doesn't, are there plans to add compatibility? Thanks, Chris

Is there any way to use built in Photoshop plugins? I pointed AP to the Plugins folder in my Photoshop installation, but then I realized that it was empty. I swear Adobe used to leave the default plugins in that folder, but maybe I'm imagining things. Anyway, I'd love to have access to things like the filter gallery in AP instead of having to open that slug.

I hope there is only a setting or something missing I tried to add the folder in settings of my adobe photoshop filters If my Photoshop Topaz plugins do not work in this program is totally useless for me and please refund my purchase from Appstore Stefan

I haven't played around with the beta yet but is there any possibility that PS CC plugins can be compatible with this app ? I assume they won't be but if it's possible to do this it would really help capture market share. I'm really rooting for this app to succeed. PS really needs some competition to keep Adobe's arrogance in check. I believe that targeting a small subset of USEFUL professional features is all that is needed. No need to replicate all the bloated features from PS as most people don't use the majority of them. Keep the feature set lean, robust, and lightweight and I will be lining up to buy this product. Heck, I would pay more for this than PS CC's effective yearly cost just because it's NOT Adobe. I know many people feel the same.

HI, Affinity has imported or recognises my Imgenomic plugins but overtime I run the filter it crashes Affinity. Any fix for it? TIA
