  1. Hi Manuzark.

I'm curious as to why you went via iTunes on Mac and not directly to the app store on your iPad to make your purchase. In any case in iTunes and the store section on the right hand side is account, if you click it will show the Apple ID being used. If you are sure they are both the same then click on support in the same section or go to getsupport.apple.com for Apple to look into this for you.

Your purchases on iTunes should show up on your iPad under the purchased section.

  2. Hey JW85,

The presets will only appear when you create them by clicking on the + button as already mentioned.

Currently, you're under that section, if you go back to the 'Adjustments' category and scroll down, select curves you can then make the needed adjustments and create a preset by clicking on the + button.

    Hope this helps.

  3. This will sound like a daft question but, how do I delete imported images from Affinity Photo's library and where does AP save the images imported and edited? I can't see anywhere in iOS photos

See attachment on how to delete. The images are stored within the app, you can export to iCloud Drive, Google Drive etc but not directly into the Apple Photos app.

  4. At first I was surprised and excited to see the launch of the iPad version. And, I would've thought it'd be a no-brainer for me. Yet, I'm somewhat hesitant.

    ...

Even though I've watched most of the tutorials for the Mac version of AP, if I don't use what I learned all the time, I forget it. I haven't found Affinity Photo to really be all that intuitive coming from Photoshop, so when I do force myself to go back to it after a couple months, I've forgotten how to do anything in it.

I'm curious if perhaps having the pleasure of editing on an iPad, using Affinity Photo iPad, would keep me in practice with the UI so that when I need to use the desktop version I won't have forgotten everything. Are they very similar or nearly identical in overall function and UI layout?

There are many in a similar situation, especially if you've been using a different app for a while and of course a different work flow. For me, It was an easy switch and made a lot more sense in workflow, although I wasn't a heavy use of Ps I am now in Photo.

What may help is to recreate a project, something you did in Ps create in Photo, besides the tutorials ask away on the forum. I've not looked back.

The iOS and desktop versions are very similar in workflow and design, it took me a little while to play around with it first then I did what I suggested you do, I recreated a project from desktop to iOS and it was a joy. There is also a great little help icon in the bottom left, one tap and arrows pop up indicating what each icon and section does...

I often hear people going back to Android and Windows purely because of not knowing how to or they find it easier, I would be the same going across to Windows from Mac OS. A bit of patience and time is all that's required.

  5. Hi Allan,

Yes, the wrong icon issue also happens here. Regarding the folder not appearing on your idevices have you saved at least one file to the Affinity Photo iCloud folder on your Mac? You have to save at least once there for the folder to appear on iOS.

There are 3 files there so far...

    *Edit

interestingly the icon is correct on iPhone and the web just not the iPad.

  6. Thanks Miguel,

The iCloud issue has been a little pain for me for a while now and yes Files in iOS 11 will change things a bit, actually looking forward to it. There are always solutions although not always ideal. For a V.1 it is an amazing app and I'm fully confident it will get better, as for me 'bearing' with you, well I've been an avid supporter since birth so I'll hang around a bit longer ; )

    Thanks for the clarity!

  7. Sorry i should have been more clear.  If you go back to the Home screen without doing anything else the file is automatically saved there. To delete or rename it, click the menu button on the bottom right of the thumbnail. Files "saved" here are not accessible from outside the app. The Save As Copy and Export options i was referring to are located in the document icon - the one on the right of the (<- ) when you have a document open -.

So, any files created in Affinity Photo on iPad can't be accessed by photo on Mac unless I choose 'save as'? Surely it should auto save to Affinity Photo folder and then accessed on Mac, otherwise we're saving two copies right? Do we then have to go and delete one copy and open up the 'save as'version? Even then there is no way to save to the Affinity Photo folder as it does not exist and the Designer folder is grayed out...
