So impressed with AD....had to resort to embedded files with this one but handled 1000's of vector objects brilliantly..
Again based on a sketch from 2017 Inktober Project
    All vector
    420 x 200 mm 300dpi

Until there is no replacement for InDesign, I can't afford to completely switch out of Adobe. Simply as that.

While I don't exactly agree with the opinion about Krita (to say it softly), I can see where you are coming from. If one enjoys a more image/editing approach for making an illustration, or even a comic coloring approach, you need selection power a lot more. Like you do need it in every in-depth image editing work. If you go the more painterly approach (Painter, Rebelle, Stormpaint, Art Rage, Krita... tho Art Rage has a lot more image editing functions, tho, of all that bunch, including Krita), you don't need it, at all.  This illustration could have been totally been made in a more painterly technique (you don't have selections when painting with real oils and acrylics over a real traditional canvas ), and IMO, both techniques are perfectly correct. Vermeer and Velazquez did not use selections...
And yep, if you need even just something advanced with text, you will be lost in Krita, for now, till it evolves a bit more (I'm sure the plan is to evolve that tool quite). And a large collection of other things, as Krita is only a painter. You can do painterly with A. Photo and PS (well...somewhat, but it is possible), and do image editing as well. You'd better do paint-only projects with Krita, though. But man, the thing is 100% free, made by a very small team, and outstandingly young as a project, probably quite younger even than Affinity line. While PS has been here since always, they got room, human force, time and money to make a wondertastic app...
I for one prefer A. Photo, PSP or Photoshop for anything, including illustration, requiring even a small amount of image editing. As a painter tool, Krita is extremely capable. I like the video, and about building up a visitors base, it takes time, and probably external promotion actions (external to youtube) and also some internal promo. Plus... time, and videos, posted regularly, even if one per week, 2 weeks at max.
That said... for actual sketching, and for projects needing line art (comics or similar) I go all the way with Clip Studio Paint. I just have not seen anything better till date, very much including Photoshop, for that kind of control.  For painting directly, concept art and sketching, and even line art... Krita. For painting and illustration where one needs selections, and a ton of other image editing power, it'd be crazy not to use A. Photo....(or similar).

If you already have Vivaldi, I’m surprised that you bother with Chrome. (For those who don’t know, Vivaldi is a Chromium browser and is therefore quite similar to Google Chrome, but without Chrome’s nasty habit of ‘phoning home’ at frequent intervals.)

Przemysław reacted to Aammppaa in Hue Saturation Luminance Jitter per Stroke (not per Dab)
Playing with the brush engine in Photo & Designer and found that Hue / Saturation / Luminance Jitter work differently from other apps…
In Affinity the jitter is applied per dab.

Compare with Photoshop (and others?) where the jitter is applied per stroke.

In my limited experience per stroke is more useful in digital painting for creating subtle variation between painted strokes.
Could Affinity have the option to choose how the jitter is applied?
    Thanks for your consideration.

<rant> I hate the trendy low or zero contrast look that seems to be so popular now, not just for electronics but just about everywhere. That includes the tool & button icons in Affinity products that do not show a lot of contrast difference whether enabled/selected vs not, but the absolute worst example I have seen so far is the instruction sheet that comes with an Apple Pencil. Everything is printed with such a light shade of gray that it is almost invisible unless viewed under very bright light.
Almost as bad is the light gray text in many of Apple's online user documents, which makes them almost useless when viewed on a mobile device in bright sunlight. </rant>

Przemysław reacted to jeff in Measurement dimension templates
Just thought I'd share this. I frequently have to add dimensions to my design work to communicate to developers the specifics of a layout. Currently, there isn't a feature to create these in AD, so I've cobbled together my own workaround version using constrained objects. The benefit is it's pretty easy to resize the dimension to match the size of the element being measured. The downside, you will still have to enter all the numeric dimension manually. Ugh! I know, but a quick check of the Transform module will tell you what size to enter. One other flaw with this system is it doesn't work so well with very small measurements. Anything below 10px vertical and 30px horizontal will have to be manually adjusted because of limitations to how constraints work. Just resize one to below these thresholds and you'll see what I mean. If you know to avoid this situation, please share. To help with this, I made some smaller measurements to get you started. One other item I added to the file is a dark and light overlay to help make the dimensions easier to read. Use the dark one on dark interfaces and the light on lighter ones. There are a couple examples included that illustrate how to use them.
It may seem that the downsides outweigh the benefit, but if you have to have dimensions, then even the seemingly small benefit of easy resizing adds up to hours of time saved on large projects. Hopefully, you find this useful.

Hi, I've been working on som assets and documents for material design in Affinity designer.

The Icon assets are the original SVG downloaded from https://material.io/icons/ and are all in 24x24 px (I will try to update this when there is new icons).
I've also started to make a document that is a copy of te dokument that Sketch uses (This is not done but I would like feedback on what to improve)

    Hi Everyone,

I have created a color palette based on Google's material design (https://material.io/guidelines/style/color.html). Attaching the palette file for AD. Hope it would help.
