That’s exactly why I suggested that the Pinegrow developers shouldn’t add Macaw-like longevity to their product!!- 8 replies

I’d be only too happy to explain if I knew, but I’ve no idea! It occurs to me that a simple solution would be to go back to the original text and round-cornered rectangle, set the blend mode of the text layer to ‘Erase’ and then group the two layers (so that whatever is placed behind/below those layers shows through, instead of also being partially erased by the text layer).

That’s fine as long as they don’t also add Macaw-like longevity!- 8 replies

Microsoft Windows Developer Awards 2018
Alfred replied to Mark Ingram's topic in News and Information
I wonder whether the latest votes come from users who've been seduced by the 'value for money' factor. Todoist is free. -
Ah, OK. Lightbulb moment! If you click on a straight line segment the new node will be a sharp node, but if you click on a curved line segment the new node will be a smooth node. Alternatively, click on the 'Convert to Sharp' icon in the Convert section of the Context toolbar.
-
Choose the Node Tool, move towards the edge of the object on the canvas until the white arrow cursor acquires a little squiggle, and then click once to add a node below the cursor.

From the image he posted here, it would seem that Max wants to be able to adjust a number of different shapes so that they all have the same area.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @JT101. It sounds as though you're using Affinity Photo. The 'Text on a Path' feature is only available natively in Affinity Designer, but you can use the file attached to this post to work around that restriction.

Please see my step-by-step instructions in this post. At step 2 you have drawn the second object above the circle instead of below it, so at step 10 you need to set the anchor to bottom centre instead of top centre, but everything else is the same. I've attached a file which has 'Save History With Document' switched on so that you can use the History panel to see what I did. AD_ricke76.afdesign

This thread is about revolving copies of one object around another object, not about rotating an object around its own axis. Please explain a little more about what you’re trying to do.
-
You could select and group the two objects, rotate the group to swap the objects’ positions and then rotate the individual objects back to their original orientations, but your Notepad method is probably just as quick!

iPad Affinity Photo Portrait Orientation?
Alfred replied to ivan's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on iPad Questions
The Rotate commands don’t flip anything, so you must have accidentally invoked ‘Flip Horizontal’ or ‘Flip Vertical’. Go back to the Orientation options on the Document menu and flip the document again. -
Nothing new there, then!

Help with pencil brush

Very generous, as always! Why do you say "former"? I'm a happy current customer, and expecting to remain so.
