  1. Thank you @Alfred. This isn't to say that we haven't purchased all the Affinity suite products even when they wouldn't work on our older machines (Windows 7) just to show support for Serif and the brand. When we purchased the new Windows 11 Pro, we upgraded the suite to the V2 automatically. Again thank you.
  2. Thank you!! It was all there when we purchased our new laptops in Jan. because we were trying to decide what to carry over...but it would have been nice for them to send out an email letting us know they were purging our accounts so that we could make sure to have copies of everything. I understand but am still not happy how this was done.
  3. Well I thought I would go about this privately through an email, but because of this buyout, all those years of being with Serif through the Plus years have now been wiped out in my account!! I am not a happy as we paid for those items and are still running them on our older machines!! We understand about not supporting them, etc...but why remove our history with Serif? @Ash Up until recently, they were all still showing up in our account!!
  4. @Ash The most comforting thing that you have done is show up here on the forums! I have been using Serif products from the Plus days and then added the Affinity Photo as soon as it was released for Windows and continued to upgrade as I had great customer service in the very beginning. It was awesome being able to get a real person on the phone way back then being in the US. Thank you. I have converted so many friends over and really would hate to see Affinity disappear.
  5. Here's another article and it looks like the remaining folks are joining Canva. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/23012ff5-97a9-4260-990c-7f5277a962e0?shareToken=a6aaceec7ddeccbeb881808ebbb73cdb Hewson said the deal with Canva, which was said in January to be valued at $26 billion, had come “out of the blue”. Bates and Bryce are leaving the business completely, while he and Serif’s 93-strong team are joining Canva.
  6. That's good to know. I researched some things on reddit and decided against trying PagePlus but will follow through on DrawPlus. We have Malibal computers : 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900H 2.60 GHz, Installed RAM 64.0 GB (63.7 GB usable),NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 8GB, 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor, Windows 11 Pro. Our old laptops are Malibal and still working but running Windows 7...one is 12 years old and the other is 8 years.
  7. That's totally not true. @Greengestalt We were with Serif long before it became Affinity. Why because Serif actually had software that we could use for the creativity that we needed. We have stayed with them as they evolved into Affinity but missed some of the attributes in their previous software. We purchased the whole offering even when our older computers could not actually use it just as support for the company. Three months ago we upgraded to new computers and upgraded to the V2 and now to have this news is just a bombshell. Like so many others we will no longer be adding any additional add-ons or give them any more of our funds. Our old computers still work and have the older Serif products on them especially PagePlus and CS6. But we will also be looking for an Affinity alternative. Unless @Ash can provide a copy of how the contract is clearly written to protect us users and that Affinity still retains the rights and controls, Canva will be able to do whatever they want. Some reassurance could be provided by removing the requirement to authorise new installations of V2 products online, and any additional online callbacks to be removed. Pledges are just that pledges...they are not legal binding....
  8. Serif won my support and loyalty because of their PagePlus software. In the early days, their customer support was outstanding and they truly cared what the customer had to say. Recently the emails that went back and forth for support were practically useless. I still run a Windows 7 computer to use PagePlus and CS6. I recently purchased all the Affinity products as we purchased new laptops with Windows 11...what a bummer to hear this news. Like everyone else, if Affinity goes subscription we would rather pay Adobe unless some other new and upcoming program appears like the early Affinity Photo. However as others have stated it is the principal and having another company hold our work hostage is not acceptable, so I guess we are now on the search for new software that doesn't require a subscription. Doesn't matter what you say, going forward I will not be purchasing any other Affinity products...as it is we purchased the Universal license for all of the suite. I also cannot in good conscience continue recommending Affinity as a one time purchase software. Like everyone said, it is great for you guys and you can retire but you have done a huge disservice to all your users.
  9. So I did some more research and found out that if the ICC Profile is checked then the Nikon Viewer will not show the photo. If you uncheck that box and leave the metadata box checked the photo shows up in Nikon Viewer. If you would like to see the metadata information between all the different versions Affinity, just e-mail or contact me. I have print out files of each to show what may be causing the problem. Thanks.
  10. Has this issue been fixed? I just purchased a Nikon D500 and shoot in RAW...processed the photo in Affinity Photo for windows and then exported it as a jpg....Nikon Viewer does not see the photo. If I save it as a psd file, then open in Adobe Photoshop and save as a jpg, have no issue opening it in Nikon Viewer....so again this has something to do with exporting it as a jpg from Affinity Photo. Help as I am trying to get out of Adobe!!
