  1. No image brush is probably the best option for colour retention, I would export each shape as its own png file and add each one as a texture to the main brush. I'm not totally up on brush creation but I'll have a go at creating a brush for you to play with the settings Scatter brushes.afbrushes
  2. What type of brush are you choosing in Affinity Photo or designer are you in Pixel Persona in designer?
  3. I made a file with a slight variation, you can turn squares off and on to blank out the image below: Grid Overlay.afphoto file is saved with history so you can see my doodling
  4. I suppose the logical option for Outline view is to be able to configure the colours of strokes to represent a shape, curve, text or symbol so in Outline View Text could be red, Curves are black, Symbols are Pink and Shapes are blue. Not sure it would look pretty but worth an investigation.
  5. That is a windows feature not an Affinity feature: https://www.pcworld.com/article/220222/Windows.html
  6. Upload the original Tiff file and I'll see if I can find an export that will retain the layers, PDF might do this.
  7. Nice take Jimmy, we all love you lol! I like your technique that works very well.
  8. I could make a quick video to show you how to do it in Affinity Designer using the trapezoid shape which simplifies it a bit. So instead of using rectangles you use trapezoids, so you are kind of half way there.
  9. Sooner than later eh, these sort of things are seen as basic processes today and a lot of people are used to a higher level of options and features especially pro's, so I think a lot of people use Affinity Designer in tandem with other software until such a time as they can build up the feature set.
  10. To be honest It's just too long-winded in Affinity Designer to do this sort of thing, I normally leave Affinity Designer and go to into another vector app to do such work. As much as Affinity Designer is good, the lack of these features can make it very frustrating.
  11. I know this is crazy in what is one of the most popular vector apps around but unfortunately not no perspective tool is available unless you also own Affinity Photo then you can tell Affinity Designer to edit in Affinity Photo. I used to love CorelDraw when I used Windows. If you don't group the rectangles and use Add you will end up with a shape that has spaces between them. After Adding together
  12. After you have created the six rectangles, select them all and choose Layer > Geometry > Add this converts them to curves, select the node tool and now you can edit the nodes at the top to simulate perspective, if you want to, you can create another shape for the top and use Layer > Geometry > Subtract to create a fancy shmancy edge.
  13. Affinity Designer doesn't have anything like envelopes at the moment, you could pen out a shape and use Mask to Below to create a pseudo perspective.
  14. I agree, I think what the method does is mute the antialiasing, unfortunately this is all we have at the moment. This Method can't be applied to Groups either, You have to select the Layers within the Groups, you can select Layers enmasse by "cmd/ctrl + drag select" this will select the Layers within Groups and will also select Layers within Symbols, the latter is more of a warning to be careful with cmd/ctrl + drag select if you have Symbols, this was an issue for a recent poster when trying to move Symbols and Text together.
  15. Or you can try the Blend Options and the coverage map and make a shape like an L rotate 90º clockwise, As taught by MEB
  16. I'm on Mac and from Numbers (Apples Spreadsheet app) I can copy as PDF and Paste into Affinity Designer and can easily convert to curves, it brings in a lot more junk that you have to delete but does the job fairly easily. From Dan C's layers snapshot I wonder if Excel is doing the same and exporting copying as a PDF.
  17. You can also try this download from Microsoft to run a Fixit after you have done a SFC: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed
  18. First, I would run a System File Check: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system this will check for system file corruptions and hopefully be able to fix them. Note: you can skip step 2. and SFC /Scannow will still work, but I would try it anyway, if it fails you can move on to step 3. and run a SFC /scannow, this can take a bit of time so be patient. Once you know the system files are in good order, we can move on to other solutions if this doesn't sort the installation issue out.
