  1. Setting Associated tool to a brush choice enables the name to be displayed however it prevents that brush from being used with any other associated tool. Eg If I set a brush to Paint brush, I cannot then use it for Paint Mixer brush or Colour Replacement Brsh. I must be missing something here as it would seem to make sense to allow brush naming to be displayed with the setting of Associated tool as Don't Set. This way the brush designers brush name would be visible in the drop down menu for every tool the brush was linked to. Is their a reason for not doing this?
  2. You somehow managed to flip your screen shot, maybe when you added the rest of the controls.. You are viewing the photo zoomed in 284% according to a Navigator window.. Nearly 3 times actual size. To rescale set desired doc size, Choose required dpi (typically 300 + for photo printing) change bilinear to bicubic, leave resample selected and tap the tick to apply.
  3. Why is it that Daub blenders are able to display the brush name but other brushes do not display their names?
  4. According to Griffey’s site the Powermate is for Mac OSX not iPad iOS. Do they have an iPad product too?
  5. Try this... tap one of the red circled nodes, now tap smooth or smart in the bottom control tabs. It will then allow you to modify the sharp node angle. 1714F315-9257-4FA2-80FF-A19E6C23BF14.MP4
  6. You could use a Hue Saturation Luminosity (HSL) filter. You can then select master or individual colours to adjust hue, Saturation and or luminosity. In AP on right side (Studio) select square with 3 dots inside. Then 8 down is HSL.
  7. I'm sorry to hear you are both having issues. I have a 10.5 IPad Pro and I am using the current beta release 1.6.7 candidate 1. It seems to have fixed all the issues that were evident in the earlier releases. I know it is of little consolation to be told ‘I'm not having any issues' but hang in there and hopefully the mods can come up with a solution for you. If either of you are using the iOS beta 11.3 there have been reports of problems with AP crashing with that version. Other than that, I am out of ideas and will leave it to the mods.
  8. Sorry to hear of your misfortune. Not sure what version you are using but the beta versions have better 'interworking' with ios11 and saving. On latest beta you can open from cloud (or import). When opening from Cloud and doing a Save, it saves back to original file in Cloud. You can also set preferences to direct Save to save in iPad (Files/Photo area) or Cloud. Unfortunately still no multiple save feature. Worth noting that if you don't save changes, they are stored only in AP 'sandbox' and will be lost if you uninstall the app. In fact it seems to me that ALL editing stays within sandbox until you either Save or Save as or Export.
  9. Ron56, does it crash with all images or just the one? This is not 'normal' behaviour. What version of AP are you using, beta or Apple store version? What model iPad do you have? Try closing any other apps you may have running in the background. It may also help to hard reset the iPad. Hopefully one of the moderators will be along shortly to assist further.
  10. At the moment AP supports only Apple Pencil. It does however work surprisingly well with just using your fingers.
  11. No unfortunately no way to have more than one doc open. A workaround for moving images would be to use the Place option which can now access pretty much all storage areas.
  12. New HDR Merge screen is using a Camera icon to provide access to photos. The main screen Import from Photos library uses a circle with elipses drawn inside. Would it make sense to use the same icon throughout to access the same location (photo library)? The Camera icon 'suggests' it opens the Camera function with its HDR picture taking mode.
  13. Would it be possible to modify the Show Touches so that the circle size is determined by the brush size setting and the show touches colour is determined by the selected primary brush colour?
  14. I can confirm that a D850 raw files downloaded a few mins ago would not open on iPad using rel candidate 1. The file tested can be opened in Snapseed.
  15. The help file actually details what is meant to be happening. Opening and Importing For many users, the starting point to your project will be to open or import an image and then edit it. Images can be accessed from local and cloud storage (e.g., iCloud), or from your iPad's Apple Photos app. Of course, you can also open Affinity Photo (desktop), Affinity Designer, PSD, and PDF files. The choice of whether to open or import files is an important decision in Affinity Photo. Understanding the difference will help with file management and backup strategies. Opening in place You can open images and previously saved Affinity documents (plus PSDs) from local or cloud storage. When opening, the key point is that these files are kept in their original location and will be overwritten on saving. However, if you add layers to an opened 'flat' image, you can either flatten the document on saving (this overwrites the original image in its original location) or save the document to a new fixed location on local/cloud storage. The latter preserves all layer information. Importing by copying Unlike opening, importing always makes a copy of the original image or document and loads it as an 'internal' document. The imported file could be from your Apple Photos library or from local/cloud storage. On saving, the document will be added to cloud storage or On My iPad to a fixed location.
  16. As I see it, images opened and changes made are 'stored' in AP 'working' folder. When saving to iPad (closed image tap 3 bars etc), the image is stored on the iPad and viewable in Files, On My IPad, Photo. If you don't save it stays only in 'Working' folder. If you uninstall AP at this stage you would lose the image and changes. Opening an image via Cloud option places image in 'working' folder (which is displayed on welcome screen). Saving from Welcome screen (3 bars) still saves on iPad, Photo. No Save option when image is opened, only a Save a Copy, which does exactly that. I used Open from Cloud, selected an image which opened in AP. Closed image and press Save on Welcome screen (to Save/Copy over the original file), the save date of the original image updated accordingly so it does appear to work correctly. Edit: After experimenting with a few files I have confirmed (in my case) that Open from and Import do behave as designed. What IS important to remember is that any changes made in AP remain in the private 'working folder' until you decide to Save them. So if you use Close without first saving (from 3 bars on Welcome/Opening screen), the changes will be lost. Likewise, using the back arrow to exit the editing screen will only save the changes back to the private working files area in AP sandbox. In the edit screen you can of course use the Save a Copy (which saves a copy of changes) or you can exit back to Welcome/Open screen and use Save (3 bars menu) to save the changes (location saved to depends on how you accessed the file). If Open from Cloud, Save updates the existing file, if Import from Cloud, Save adds a Copy to the local Photo folder in Flies (I assume this type of save is then effected by the store on iPad or store in Cloud preferences setting). Clear as pMuddit
  17. This release candidate seems to have addressed the earlier issues. I haven't found any issues yet. Cloning, patching, colouring, tone mapping, mesh distortion, perspective changes. One white screen experience when saving but I did have another 4 apps open. Closed them and file saved properly. One thing I haven't looked at much is the camera option. Hard to work out what the various controls do. Nothing in help files either. all in all, this release seems pretty good so far.
  18. When you tap the 3 bars to the right of an unopened image and select save, (if you have set General Preferences Save Location to On My IPad) the file you save will appear in the Photos section of Files under On My IPad, Photo area. If you open an image and use the menu Save As option, it opens Files and allows you to navigate to a location. When saved this way, the image doesn't appear in local Files/On My IPad, Photo area.
  19. Thanks, I can see what you are saying now. Here's what it looks like with iOS 11.25. As you can see, no delay and you can see the brush reticule. Looks like it might be related to the iOS beta. Devs probably won't fix any iOS beta issues until Apple put out the general release for 11.3. Are you using the new release candidate 1 of AP? I've not found any issues yet. 0E479EF0-91B4-477C-87E8-B62AC887D055.MP4
  20. Sorry but I can't download/Open the .mov on my iPad with Safari so I can't see what you were experiencing. I didn’t notice any significant lag though using my iPad Pro 10.5. May be something to do with iOS beta?
  21. Just noticed that the Clone/Healing help file currently states: ”For Apple Pencil users, the cloning/healing source can only be defined by a long press gesture (with finger) and not by the Pencil itself.' Having tested this I can set the 'source' using the pencil.
  22. I don't have multi platforms (only iPad) but it seems the answer is yes, the files on each platform are compatible across platforms/devices. You can save files with history too. From feature list on Serifs site: Cross platform (Windows, macOS and iOS) Affinity Photo is available on Windows, macOS and iOS with perfect file format compatibility.
