    Eventually got Photo to move to D drive.
    Then installed other 2 direct to D drive.

    You can install V1 or V2 applications on as many of your personal systems as you want. I would ot remove V1 from your system until after you've installed V2. That way, V2 will be able to migrate some of your V1 content and settings.
    Yes, they should work. Though there are some reports of some brushes not working, for some as yet unknown reason. So, again, perhaps a reason to delay deleting V1.

    I purchased Designer directly from the Affinity Store (Serif) and the other ones (Photo and Publisher) from the Microsoft Store. The ones from the MS Store updated yesterday evening, but it seems that the Affinity Store however needs a little longer this time. But this will be no reason for me to buy my software at the Microsoft Store in the future. I'm not verry satisfied by that store in many cases.
    Edit: Jon P is right. Now it works.

    If you purchased from the Affinity Store and restart the application you should start seeing the update prompts

    I have the same problem, but only with Designer (look at this thread) - the only app I bought in the Affinity Store. Seems that Affinity's announcement was faster than their update service. Think we should wait a little. Maybe tomorrow.

    Those assets appear black in the Assets panel because they are black.  They're still assets, and usable; just drag them onto your document.

    It sounds like you could be mixing up two different functional areas of the Affinity applications.
    Assets are complex objects which can be dragged into a document from the Assets Panel, while speech bubbles, diamonds, circles and the like are Smart Shapes that can be used via the relevant Tools.
    I have never heard of the Assets in the Assets Panel being ‘greyed out’ (even when there’s no active document) so I’m not sure what is happening there. Would you be able to provide a full-screen screenshot so we can see what you see?
    If you can’t see the Smart Shapes in the Toolbar, try using menu “View → Customise Tools…” to see if you can drag the relevant tools to your Toolbar.

    Thanks for the fast reply to my "Stupidity".
    I have not used software since it first came out so lost a lot of past knowledge.
    I now understand with your and GarryP's help.

    Thanks for fast reply to my post, i really appreciate it.
    I thought I had to deactivate old versions somehow to reinstall like my adobe software.
    I just wanted to be sure before I do it to avoid fighting like I do with Adobe.
