  1. Sorry if I wasn't clear... The option to isolate to one parent object and all of its children, whereby you can work on any of the children without exiting the 'isolation' mode is a much smaller addition than to be able to isolate to a number of different objects from arbitrary points in the document structure. It depends whether that would actually add much value? If it's what you want most of the time then it has value, but if it's not what you'd usually imagine doing, then it's much better to wait and do it the other way when time permits.
  2. To end drawing, just press Escape or double click. To 'cut' the path, you're actually wanting to 'break' it at a certain node (the 'break' button on the context toolbar does this) then 'delete' the node (press delete) Hopefully that gets you going :) Matt
  3. You're not the first person to mention this, but it's not something we've been able to reproduce. It goes away for people when they restart... Does yours go away too, or is it persistent? If it's persistent then it might be easier to try to debug... :)
  4. Thanks for that :) What I was thinking didn't actually work though :( We would need to add a specific importer for 'old' AI files in order for this to work. It's non-trivial but possible, obviously. I think this would have to come after we've achieved more of our current roadmap, unfortunately, so won't happen soon :(
  5. This might sound like a silly request, but could you supply another test file where the object is in the bounds of the document? This file's contents are all outside the document when I open it in Illustrator. I've got an idea, but can't test it with this test file... :)
  6. Hi JFS, I'm not quite sure what you mean? If you mean Margins these are available through the View menu -> Show Margins :)
  7. If you turn off 'move by whole pixels' you should get the behaviour you expect, I think? :)
  8. Hi sk3pt1c, We're going to change the Export Persona so that it always shows the export areas as they'll actually export so you can see the artefacts on your jpeg, zoom in and play with the settings until you get it right. At present, it just draws the document like normal, but this will change. Before/After is an interesting idea, we'll think about it :) Thanks, Matt
  9. It's already in the next beta of Affinity Designer... :) This is the great thing about a shared back-end, it means that nice things like this are automatically in all the products, as are any bug fixes :)
  10. Ah, now that's interesting... I'll try to see if there's a fault in the logic that's somehow letting this happen... I'd tried and tried to make this go wrong previously and couldn't get it to happen, but didn't realise you were hitting Cmd+Z periodically... 'Z' single character press is obviously the shortcut key for Zoom Tool, so it makes sense if somehow we think we're receiving the key without the Cmd modifier being down? It's worth another look! :)
  11. If it would be acceptable that you only have one 'root' node to the isolation that you're interested in, I could probably add proper support for that fairly trivially - but if it's necessary to have multiple disparate nodes which you want to isolate then it's definitely possible, but requires more time. Is the former actually useful?
  12. The back-end curve classes already work with b-splines, it just needs adding to the tools - so it'll appear one day :)

    New Logo

Cool! I think the shadow is a touch too heavy for my personal tastes, but it's a great logo! :)
  14. Ah, thanks for that - that sounds like something that's probably fixable then... I'll talk to Andy Tang about it and see what he says :)
  15. Take a look at the attached - I've copied your original and added a different coverage map curve that has multiple points - it achieves the result you're looking for, I think? :) aa-example2.afdesign
  16. Thanks Alex! Message received :) I've spoken to Dave and have a trail to follow, so I'll let you know when we get somewhere :) Matt
  17. We currently offer both types of selection behaviour as separate choices in Preferences, so I suppose there's no reason we couldn't add a third option which is basically an 'auto' governed by which direction you selected in... I'll try to add it when I get chance (although it may blow minds - my own included!) :)
  18. Dave's having a look at it :) If you don't mind sending us the custom font you used for your test that would probably make his life a little easier? Don't worry if not though :) Matt
  19. Hi John, Are you experiencing this problem? Although nobody has formally closed this topic, one of the betas many weeks ago contained a fix for this problem. If you still have an issue, could you describe it for me? :) Thanks, Matt
  20. Hi Gary, No, I'm not able to reproduce this... it works fine for me... It seems to be something specific to your system - we've got a MacBook Pro with the same hardware as yours so I'll ask to see if we can try to reproduce the problem on that one... Sorry about this :( Matt
  21. @Gary - Thanks for that - we'll try to keep an eye out too :) @Miguel - Done the outline hiding while changing the profile, it'll be in the next beta :)
  22. Thanks for that Malcolm! :D File received and understood - I'll take a look into it and make sure it's sorted! :) Matt
