  1. The fact that I can't run Win 11 on my old system doesn't make my system unusable, it makes Win 11 unusable. I can't be the only one whose looked at 11's new features and thought "so what?".
  2. Windows may have updated itself without you realising. Try shutting the system down via a command prompt - shutdown /s
  3. Why "useless"? I've seen nothing to suggest I'd want to move to Win 11, even if I could - 10 still works and support will be available for years.
  4. Serif staff have said there's a problem with some of the AMD Adrenalin drivers, and various users have said they've had problems with specific Nvidia and AMD drivers but I don't believe that Serif have said there's a general problem with any manufacturer.
  5. I think this would be better submitted as a new question - it doesn't have anything to do with selecting a graphics card and could easily be missed.
  6. Out of date and buggy device drivers get blamed for all sorts of problems - the Affinity apps aren't unusual in that respect. I'd expect the "culprits" to be a lot more specific than the manufacturers though. But even if there was a list it could all change tomorrow as old bugs are fixed and new ones come to light.
  7. I'd love to see a definitive answer to this, too. Unfortunately, for me at least, upgrading the graphics card would mean at least a new PSU, and possibly a new motherboard too - it's a leap in the dark! Disabling hardware acceleration has been the solution to a number of users' problems, but so far I haven't seen anyone complaining that the performance has suffered.
  8. It seems to be Serif's policy not to respond to feature requests. The assumption is that too many people try reading between the lines and then get irate when their expectations aren't met. I tend to agree with Serif, but it's frustrating when perfectly reasonable requests / suggestions are met with silence.
  9. Based on this post I'd assume that Libraw will introduce A1 support in the next public snapshot.
  10. I had problems with the fast start a couple of years ago - disabling it had no adverse effects.
  11. Agreed! But, so far as I can remember, it always has. I think importing meta data from sidecar files may be a red herring - EXIF data are imported from the .jpg file regardless of whether or not that option is selected. I think the most obvious way forward is to update AP to the current version and see what happens - if it works then problem solved. If it doesn't, at least the people trying to help will be using the same software.
  12. I had a play with this feature a while back and found some problems with it. On reflection I couldn't see why I'd need it so I dismissed it as a gimmick. What makes it so useful?
  13. Libraw is expected to support it in the next public snaphot - due this autumn. <edit> The latest version of Adobe's DNG Converter can handle the GH5 Mk II's RAW files.
  14. Sorry, I'm not making myself clear. I don't want to use the image at all - I'm just trying to understand why an artist would insist on their work being modified before it can be used.
  15. I think you might need to let the lawyers have a look at your business model 😀
  16. Ok, but use on a website is already prohibited by the first bullet point. As I (miss)understand it the published image can't be copyable (for obvious reasons) and must be modified (at which point I lose the plot).
