  1. The serif team would have to ask for access for the free GoZ™ SDK. MEB , Ben maybe you could give this a try? https://support.pixologic.com/ The *.JSX files which where specifically added for the Photoshop addon by Adobe are to my sparse knowledge not compatible, otherwise we as customers could use all kinds of advanced plugins from Photoshop in Affinity Photo.
  2. It would indeed be kick ass,. This is more up to Serif since the Macro system is too limited. Affinity Photo/Designer as of now though can be bridged with Zapplink which is a nice thing. After looking, the ZBtoPhotoshop CC Addon is creating everything as separate psds alongside a script which then merges those files inside Photoshop. I guess creating a solution would be easy for the talented serif developers.
  3. Of course talented and skilled people are around the globe, the only thing which can be holding people back is the lack of opportunities. Ethnicity plays a lot less of a role than you unintentionally implied there. Prior to working at Adobe, Mr Seetharaman worked for CrystalGraphics which is like Adobe based in the US. I hope what was meant with avoiding "outsourcing" is the sweatshop mentality where companies abuse the economic development of other countries to use talent in those countries for marginal wages. If Serif is avoiding the sweatshop mentality to instead hire and give relocation assistance, more power to them.
  4. thing is, cross deployment/releases to multiple OS can be somewhat easy - depending on where and on what you work in and on, its for sure advertised often enough as just having to set up the IDE and the compiler. Please don`t be too harsh on others which haven`t had the enjoyment of fighting IDEs and compilers and the need to crosscheck every tiny feature.
  5. ""your request(for generating keys) will be reviewed on a case by case basis"" "Your request may have been denied due to the amount of keys requested. " but thank you for making me search about how Steam works with partners. https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/features/keys
  6. It`s probably hard to convince Serif to give up 30% of each sale especially when there are many distributors setting up similar stores with much lower distribution fees.
  7. On my PC, Affinity Photo (Windows) from 01.01.2018 to 16.01.2019 has approximately downloaded 111,74KB and uploaded 27,19KB. 12 servers from Amazon, S3-eu-west.-1.amazonaws.com located in Ireland. 8 transfers again to ireland but not much information is given.
  8. GPL licenced code is probably not interesting for Serif to use. With the current GPLed licence, Serif would have to restructure their entire business model. https://github.com/NatronGitHub/Natron/blob/RB-2.3/LICENSE.txt The .afphoto file format is for everyone outside Serif more secret and undocumented than psd files and Serif stated there is no intention to change that. Without adding an intermediate filechanging capability, it wouldn`t make sense to see Serif resurrect Natron. It makes imo currently no sense at all - Serif and customer wise to see Serif "have" Natron in its current state unless all developers who contributed to Natron agree to relicencing.
  9. I wished that to be true but somehow Microsoft 365 already contains the following things as can be read in the underneath quote; https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/enterprise
  10. With the upcoming Windows 365, there will be yet another subscription to deal with. https://www.computerworld.com/article/3328537/microsoft-windows/microsoft-may-pitch-windows-10-subscriptions-at-consumers.html I think time is ripe for Serif to secure and collect the money of the customers by making the Affinity Product line compatible with CentOS and Ubuntu like other commercial developers already do with their programs.
  11. indeed I mixed up in a monumental way, the error has been clearly at my side, I got confused due to the properties numbers.
  12. Hello Gnobelix, it is the original file. Good question, windows is saying in file properties that it is indeed a 32bit file so the assumption was that it would be recognized as such.
  13. It seems that 32bit TGA files are upon opening imported as 8bit images. which means, there is a lot of detail loss RGBA_Split_output_4.tga
  14. https://www.microsoft.com/de-de/p/ubuntu/9nblggh4msv6 maybe the Windows Subsystem for Linux helps when you want to seamlessly want to switch between Linux and Windows? Its only the Ubuntu Terminal so I have 0 idea if its useful or not.
  15. Minor updates are free like 1.a to 1.x. Major updates 1.x to 2.x cost money. write bugreports, help in Betatesting. Some even go to lengths to bring the programs into universities to help students. Create stuff which helps others. Best way imo to help is to create amazing art because that is imo the most effective advertisement.
  16. recording the canvas-> giftcam,Screentogif, shareX,obsstudio and other programs. copic markers -> color wheel. -> -> regarding Symmetry, there seems to be significant improvements to be avilable in the current Affinity Photo Beta but I wasn`t able yet to find nor use it, someone else has to confirm or give tips on using/enabling that. -> drawing guides such as symmetry, perspective, isometric and 2d, 3d grids. If you need such features right now - or even better, want them across all your programs, I can only recommend imo the excellent https://lazynezumi.com/ it can be used easily with Affinity Photo.
  17. Hello John, your words are harsh and straight out hostile, i hope that its just a misunderstanding that you are attacking others personally. There is an "infinite amount of users" its the human population growth which is growing each year. Even if there where a theoretical saturation of consumption, Serif would then release a new version - a paid upgrade and the sales begin again. Serif hasn`t even begun yet in catering to at least ~1 billion potential customers which would happen if RTL writing was available inside the Affinity range. Here an image showing the distribution of just one of the many scripts(here is the Arabic script distribution) which happen to be RTL writing, there are more scripts like Hebrew which also is RTL. Subscriptions are like renting a house, you won´t get attached to the area/product and can and will probably move on to other areas/prodcuts like you dear John are doing while abandoning the Adobe renting area.
  18. indeed, remeshing for an even distribution of the geometry and then subdividing it.
  19. yes it was modified outside of AD. The process involves a cleanup stage where the SVG file gets turned to geometry and then extended. After that, there is a need for optimizing the result and cutting it into pieces (red lines). Its mainly for exploring how much Affinity Designer can be incorporated in this process. The cat shape within AD is much more difficult and I haven´t had much of a success yet wit it. .
  20. Affinity Designer was used to create a basic star shape which got outside of Designer modified.
  21. The Light theme has missing custom input constant buttons . Steps to reproduce: switch the UI Style from Dark to Light
  22. the missing custom inputs for the light theme (reproducible via switching to the light theme) should be passed too. Edit this UI style issue is now in its own bug report!
  23. woha, yours is worse, you don`t even have the buttons for adding custom input constants Edit: Light theme doesn`t have the custom input constant buttons
  24. Same problem on windows 10 with the Live/Shadows filter, changing the renderer doesn`t fix it. Only seemingly solution to get rid of the transparency issue is to put the filter above the image, something must have been botched up there.
