I am probably not qualified to frame this question in the best way but hope that others more experienced in vector design generally and Affinity Design specifically might comment on wether it would be useful for Affinity Designer to support plugins such as those offered by Astute Graphics. Or it may be more accurate to say wether it would be useful for Astute Graphics to support plugins for Affinity Designer. I am very new to Designer and not familiar enough with it's features but I get the feeling that at least some of the functionality of these kinds of plugins is already built in or planned for Designer, such as the corner tool for example. I asked Astute Graphics if their plugins might one day work with Affinity Designer. Here is their

  Thank you for your enquiry.    I’m afraid our plug-ins are only compatible with Adobe Illustrator and we have no plans to develop plug-ins for Affinity Designer. However you are not the first person to ask this question.    We would be very interested to know your experience with Affinity Designer though and why you think our plug-ins may benefit?  Best wishes,

It would be really useful to add/enable the little Blend Options cog gear in each of the Layer Effects.
 
For example, being able to dial-in what area of a glow or drop shadow maps to layers below would enable more realistic effects without resorting to separate layers in the layers stack...

Very often I’d like to know what’s going on with a selected element in the Layers panel in order to do things like applying a mask (or getting rid of it) etc. pp.
 
As the Layers panel can be quite populated this means a lot of scrolling. Hence my proposal: When the layer triangle is open (revealing the single elements of the layer) it would be great if the current selection (being one single element) jumped in the middle area of the Layers panel so one would immediately see what’s going on above and below it and had immediate access to all of it’s layer properties.

I'm in Designer.
 
I made a circle. And the I made a rectangle on top of it.
 
I want to delete the part of the rectangle that is overlapping the circle.
I tried to make a compond, but that does abaout everything else than delete that part.

When I make a selection of the circle, and then select the rectangle layer invert the selection I delete the whole rectangle, not the part overlapping.

I know I have made this before, but...
 
Hopefully someone else needs to know this too. ;)

How do I introduce a jpg into a canvas to begin working with it? I can't seem to copy and paste the jpg.
 
When I open one tab with the canvas and another with the image I can't select and copy the image - it's greyed out.

Hi, I'm doing sketches on garments and trying to sort out how to easily select and copy a part of a outline. Let's say I want to copy the neckline shape on the garment in the picture below, to add a top stitch around the neck hole but I don't want to re-draw it, I just want a copy of the neckline shape to make a dashed line to illustrate a stitching. ( I have no problem with dash lines, only copying).
 
In illustrator I could easily select single lines on a object and drag a copy of selected lines, but on Affinity I don't know how to do this and it slows down the work a lot.

But if i use the files in beta, i cannot use it in the live version or?

I was thinking about buying the Super Spray plugin ( trying it in AF, but I wasn't sure if it would work. Has anyone tried the plugin on AF? It is 20 dollars, so its a bit of a gamble spending that money and finding it doesn't work.
