Hi jounas Welcome to the forum! You will need to create the pattern first, then insert the pattern as a new layer over your image. You may find this tutorial helpful: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/16039-seamless-raster-patterns/ Let me know if there's anything your not sure about :) J

Hi BJA 42 Can you explain what you were seeing in the previous versions when flattening your image? I have followed these instructions and it seems to be working as expected. Duplicate Background Layer - Layer > Duplicate Select Duplicated Layer Change Blend Mode from Normal to Overlay or Soft Light Go to Filters > Sharpen > High Pass.... Change Radius and click Apply Select both Layers, Document > Flatten Cheers - J

Question about bleed
JFisher replied to Wieger's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi Wieger Welcome to the forums! :) Previewing the Bleed Area wasn't included in the 1.4 release, this will be implemented in a later update (in the Beta's) You will need to export the document to see the bleed applied. J -
Hi allen57301 Thanks for your feedback :) Affinity Publishers feature list hasn't been confirmed so we wouldn't be able to say this would be included in the first update or perhaps an update further down the line just yet. I would advise posting any suggestions in the Feature Requests section of the forum :) J

1.4 Update Failure ?
JFisher replied to Shall's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi Shall, Welcome to the forum! :) Working fine here after the update, what seems to be the issue your having when opening the app? It maybe worth moving the apps to the trash, and reinstalling via the 'Purchased' items on the App Store. J -
Transparent border on startup logo image
JFisher replied to Figmatt's topic in [ARCHIVE] Designer beta on macOS threads
Hi Matt, This has been mentioned before and MattP posted a reply here suggesting this is being looked into. Cheers -
Hi This tutorial may help, although this video is different from what you're looking to do the concept would be the same. Taking a part of one image and adding it into another. You may need to lower the opacity setting on the new set of teeth to show a kind of before/after effect. I hope this helps. J

Hi Pixfan :) As app developers we're strictly not involved in any Mac App Store transactions so we can't step in and help - but you can seek a refund from Apple and then repurchase at the promotional price with ease. You can contact them via https://getsupport.apple.com/Issues.action(clicking Purchases, Billing & Redemption). J

Hi GrantTransitionGraphics Welcome to the forums :) A Blend Tool feature is listed on our roadmap so you'll be seeing this in a future update. Affinity Designer does include Vector Brushes and should be great for what your looking to do. We have a full list of video tutorials here, should you not find what your looking for in any of the tutorials feel free to revisit this forum and ask a question. :) J

Blurred pictures
JFisher replied to RONROSSISR's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi RONROSSISR Welcome to the forum :) Would it be possible to provide a copy of the file your working with? It might be best if we take a look, it could be especially tricky if you have quite a lot of blur on the image.. J -
Hi There isn't a 'Rotate Tool' in the toolbar, to rotate the canvas, in the View menu select Rotate Left or Rotate Right. The canvas will be rotated in 15 degree increments. From the same menu, select Reset Rotation to reset the canvas back to its original rotation. There isn't already a shortcut for rotating the canvas but you can create your own. Just go into Preferences>Keyboard Shortcuts and in this window ensure you have the View menu selected. You will then be able to create a shortcut for rotating. J

Fallten image ?
JFisher replied to nicoppc's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi nicoppc Are you running the latest version of the Photo app? If so, you should find the flatten option under the Document menu. (Document>Flatten) 'Merge Down' will create a new layer based on all of your other layers, which can be useful! J- 3 replies
