Export to OpenEXR with layers fails on any file
Theseus replied to Theseus's topic in V2 Bugs found on Windows
Thanks for the thorough explanation. It seems I was misled about the capabilities of OpenEXR! -
Hi, In Photo and Designer 2.0.4, Windows 10, the EXR export function does not work when using the "layered" preset. Hardware accelerated performance option makes no difference. Steps to reproduce: Copy any image into a layer, add some text (just to get a second layer). Go to file->Export Select EXR Select Preset: OpenEXR 32-bit linear (layered) The 'generating preview' window on the left loads forever and never finishes. If you press the 'export' button anyway and select a file name for the export, it fails with the error: "An error occurred while exporting to: <filename>" Exporting without layers works fine, it seems to be specifically the layered OpenEXR that doesn't work.

On both Photo 2 and Designer 2, the default Text Styles disappear when importing a file. Only when creating a new file do the default text styles appear. Expected behaviour: Importing a file (drag onto toolbar, or using "Open") must have all default Text Styles available. Just like in V1 of Photo and Designer. To reproduce: Drag and drop a file (.png, .jpeg, any format) onto the toolbar, or open it using "File->Open". Text Styles will be empty and contain only "[No Style]" paragraph and character. Creating a New file, or using "New From Clipboard" shows the expected behaviour of populating the Text Styles panel.

Resize marquee selection after drawing

You're right, that's actually a better workaround than the Transform panel I was using before. Thanks. But I'd still like the marquee resize feature 😉 -
Resize marquee selection after drawing
Theseus replied to Theseus's topic in Feedback for the Affinity V2 Suite of Products
Hi, using the move tool after a marquee transforms the marqueed area, it does not change the marquee size. But I use that workflow a lot for stretching images or areas, and it's great for that. -
It says in the "what's new" and FAQ that the new and old formats are not compatible. Usually when file types are not forward compatible (when you break backwards compatibility), the file type name is changed so the two files cannot be confused, like .afphoto2. It's not great that we can't tell the difference between v1 and v2 files.

I don't like the new UI design

Is it possible to change the tool icons, or use another theme? I feel like I can't find anything anymore, all the tools are the same colours so I keep clicking the wrong ones. It's like there's no easy colour distinction anymore. -
Please allow me to resize a marquee selection after drawing it. Primarily for the Rectangular and Elliptical marquee tools. Adjustments should work just like the crop or rectangular tool selections where you place the selection and then can resize the corners and sides. The workflow for marquee selection isn't great. For example, when creating a rectangular marquee and I'm off by a few pixels, I need to change the marquee selection, either in the corner or the whole side. Adding another marquee and merging (Adding) them usually does not work, because I cannot draw the exact same size marquee again, especially if I'm zoomed in and need to hit a certain pixel with the side of the marquee. Using the Transform panel is a workaround, it's not a great workflow. Thanks!
