Well I really see it as a bummer but what can we possible do? Go to their office and serve them tee to enhance their productivity even further? I´d have really loved to work with a DAM soon (while also leveling up my camera gear) but that´s probably also out of eye sight for the next year and I can´t blame the dev team for this, although it´s still kinda disappointing right? It´s the different approaches - perfect software "slowly" - simple software fast - sometimes these days I want this solution - but the forum obviously always demands more and more which would result in bad ratings for simple software....

I mean they could throw out the current state of development as a beta end 2015 and that´´s what I´d also like but they might have put some thought into this decision not to do so..... But I also wonder if there really were so much difficult things that an 2015 beta would be "unusable" or something like that ..... Saying late 2016 seems like they have not even started yet when we look at the speed of Photo and Designer - the dev team does so much in one year so that says something about the things that are still to be done....

I think the hight and width should swap if the rectangle is moved by more than 45 degree and then again when moved 90% on.

I think you´re rotating using the gesture? The rotate canvas functionality? This not meant so actually rotate the image. It´s just for viewing and working purposes. The original image orientation stays untouched. You´ve to rotate the canvas (Document > Rotate)

I think it´s just great marketing to present an App on the Apple TV which might be relatively easy to build and also gets more people interested into Affinity.

just read about this software http://www.zibity.com/macdropany.html normally dropbox syncs one folder of your machine. but what if you want (multiple) custom sub folders to sync into dropbox? This may be the solution!

Yeah keynote is such a wonderful application. As well as pages! I love them both for their ease of use. I also have Microsoft office and for the last presentations I was forced to using PP and it's just awkward ... The slides on the left don't even scroll smoothly but in discrete positions which drives me crazy! The only thing I really don't get is why you can't insert headers or footers in pages. I mean you can insert page numbers or simple text headers but I hean't found a solution for using an image as a header yet.... That's sad :/ ;) And you can use an iPhone or iPad as a remote for keynote and using an iPad it´s very convenient to use a "laser pointer" function and you can draw on your slides...it´s just very Apple like :)

Very nice idea and nice and short tutorial! I like your design and the approach as well as the result. And I found the spacing guidelines in keynote (and pages) super awesome as well! Three days after I got my Mac I did my first keynote which came out very well and I used these guides all the trine!

I think this is by design. Merge visible creates a new layer on top of the others though.

You could also try to use the blend if options. First create a new coloured rectangle/ layer beneath your layer to see the effect and then click on the cog symbol on the top right of the layers panel and adjust the right node in the left panel. This should gradually make the white parts transparent and let the layer beneath shine through. Then you can delete the bottom layer and export the png. Btw - I get a blue background although matte is set to nothing

I think you either choose one of the top ten or you search for another font, so why should the top ten then still stay on top and eat up space?

Too sad that it´s discontinued :/ But I´ve just looked for an old MB for running it with Linux and spotted a real steal. 4GB RAM, SSD and a 2,2GHz Prozessor and a new Keyboard and battery intact for 180€, so Mac does not have to be expensive. It was a MB 3.x though. And I was a minute to slow. Just saying that you can get decent MB for reasonable prices so only OS X is not too bad at all....

I know many people who just work with the tools given and don´t think much bout problems or how they could be solved (and I don´t mean this in a bad way) .....But I personally could not stop thinking about such things, that´s why I enjoy this forum so much!
